Introduction

Bullying, unwelcome behavior that involves a real or imagined power imbalance is

known as bullying. It can show up in a variety of ways, like through words, gestures, or
interactions that are more subdued. The survivor of harassment regularly battles to protect
themselves and puts forth no attempts to "cause" the tormenting. Bullying may happen
anyplace, remembering for networks, instructive foundations, and on the web. It is utilized
frequently and ingrained, and the perception of an imbalance in social or physical power is
one necessary condition. Bullying is an oppressive sort of friend connection that incorporates
aggression, provocation, and savagery. In Sahih Hadith he asks, Saidina Usamah bin Zaid
said: "tell us, O Messenger of Allah, what is the best gift that God gives to mankind? Then
His Majesty SAW said: "Good morals." Hadith Narrated by Ibn Majah. Indeed, bullying is a
dishonorable act and far from good morals. Although bullying has been around for a long
time, this type of thing should not become normalized in society. But what is the cause of the
symptoms of bullying and what is the impact of this bullying? The causes of bullying from
surrounding and lack of religious moral education cause mental illness and low self-esteem.

Bullying in community: Mental Illnes by Nur Azeeza Binti Jalaluddin 1221506.

Being the target of bullying has been linked to depression and anxiety. According to
research. Depression and anxiety, heightened emotions of melancholy and loneliness,
adjustments to sleeping and eating schedules, and a decline in interest in previously enjoyed
activities. One of the reasons that bullied individuals are no longer able to attend classes or
school is because of a problem that could last into adulthood. Because of the long-lasting
repercussions of bullying, they are more likely to skip, miss, or drop out of school or
university. Numerous studies have shown that bullied children are more prone to experience
anxiety and sadness, and to consider self-harm or suicide in the future. Bullying's negative
impacts can be internalized by both kids and adults, which can lead to stress-related problems
alternatively they can externalize it by switching from victim to bully themselves, such as
anxiety and sadness. In any case, the outcomes are painful. (Piskin et al., 2015). Thus, anyone
can be the victim of bullying, and it can occur everywhere, including at work, online, and in
schools. (Houston behavioral;2017). There is overwhelming evidence from studies that show
there is a strong correlation between depression and anxiety. Ambassadors 4 kids club (2023)
Bullying is a form of child abuse and 4 out of 10 children will drop out of high school this
year because they are being bullied at school or abused at home. Recently this is the statistic
school bullying and cyberbullying statistic that show 77% of students are bullied mentally,
verbally, & physically. With 43% of victims reporting cyberbullying, the statistics are
increasingly reaching similar numbers. In secondary schools, there are physical assaults on
282,000 students per month. Additionally, 43% of children dread harassment in the school
bathroom. 160,000 students skip class every day out of fear of bullying. In this study, we
examine the short-, medium-, and long-term effects of prior cyberbullying encounters on
university students. We are contrasting their psychological development with that of their
peers who have not experienced cyberbullying. As far as we are aware, this cohort has not
been the subject of any retrospective study on cyberbullying. Furthermore, no research on
cyberbullying or bullying has been done with Bolivian students. Being the target of
cyberbullying will result in dramatically different ratings for the school climate and
psychological adjustment, including feelings of anxiety and depression. Next, witnessing
cyberbullying will have less of an effect on psychological adjustment than really being the
victim of it. (Christina et al., 2017). Thus, being bullied can therefore cause melancholy and
anxiety in victims, which can affect anyone and happen anywhere including at school, work,
and online.

According to research, being the target of bullying might lead victims to consider
suicide. Teenage suicide is one of the main causes of death. Since 2017, the suicide rate has
only risen, and it will continue to rise unless teens and young children get support; they
require counselors, teachers, and other outside support. suicides recently in the US and other
nations due to bullying. Students who may be at risk of committing suicide are assisted by
parents, teachers, and students who are educated about the dangers of bullying. Bullying and
suicide have been linked in recent years as a result of a number of suicides in the US and
other countries that were brought on by bullying. Bullying is a severe issue that has many
detrimental implications for victims, including suicide, despite the fact that far too many
adults still consider it to be merely a normal part of growing up. It's possible that many
people are unaware of the connection between bullying and suicide. (Dan Joseff et al., 2016).
According to the centers for Disease control, suicide is the third leading cause of death
among young people, resulting is about 4,400 deaths per year. (National Center for Health
Statistics). Over 14% of young people have attempted suicide, and for every suicide there are
at least 100 attempts. According to data cited by ABC News, 160,000 children skip school
every day out of fear of bullying, and approximately 30% of students are either bullies or
victims. Alchetron (2022) According to Kelly Yeomans (1984–1997), age 13, an English
youngster from the Derby suburb of Allenton, became widely known when the cause was
attributed to bullying that other neighborhood kids had engaged in. She allegedly endured
persistent harassment and mocking, particularly regarding her weight. The situation
reportedly reached a breaking point in September 1997 when a group of young people
allegedly gathered at Yeoman's house on several evenings in a succession, throwing food at
the house and yelling insults at the Yeomans. Yeomans informed her family that she was
planning to take an overdose because she had had enough. In the month before Yeomans'
death, five young people between the ages of thirteen and seventeen were found guilty of
harassing her on purpose. (Dan Joseff et al., 2016). Any form of bullying, including physical
bullying, emotional bullying, cyberbullying, sexting, and sending out provocative or explicit
images or messages about a person, can be linked to bullying-related suicide. Bullying-
related suicide and other major issues with bullying are more prevalent in some schools or
locations. This might be because bullying is such a big issue at school. It might also be
connected to students’ propensity to think about committing suicide after being exposed to it.
Suicide warning signs can include, for instance, depression symptoms including persistent
melancholy, social disengagement, loss of interest in hobbies, and difficulties sleeping or
eating. If someone is exhibiting these signs, talk to them about your worries and seek
immediate medical attention, counseling, or emergency room treatment. (Bullying &
statistics). As a result, experiencing bullying may cause someone to consider taking their
own life. In some circumstances, such as when suicide appears to be precipitated by an
especially severe incident of bullying, it might not be clear that teenagers are considering
suicide.

According to research, being the target of bullying can lower academic attainment.
Academic success is the primary factor influencing bullying in schools. As a result, bullied
children experience constant fear, self-blame, and feelings of weakness. These emotions have
an impact on their personality traits and self-confidence, which makes it difficult for them to
learn and may even make them want to skip school or lessons. They will also miss out on the
chance to socialize or take part in school activities. As a result, they will perform poorly in
school and have low educational achievement. Bullying and school characteristics like class
size, the availability of a library, and sports facilities are strongly correlated. Bullying makes
both perpetrators and victims more dissatisfied with school, and chronic bullying can result in
stress and despair. Bullying can result in anxiety, a low sense of self-worth, hopelessness, and
loneliness. (Dan Joseff et al., 2016). Academic success is the primary factor influencing

loneliness. Children either skip lessons or avoid going to school out of fear. When they do
attend, they become disoriented. Until they are adults, some consequences linger long after
the bullying has stopped. Because harassed students find it difficult to concentrate in class, a
student's grades may be a red flag. If a youngster misses a lot of school because of bullying,
his or her GPA can also suffer. Bullied children often complain of headaches, stomachaches,
and general exhaustion. (Research clue). On a rather broad definition of bullying, the impact
of bullying victimization on academic performance has been studied. Here, we made the case
that previous research has, for the most part, ignored the idea that the type of bullying that a
young person experience may have some bearing on how it affects their academic
performance. If our argument is correct, lumping all forms of bullying into one measure will
result in shoddy empirical research on the connection between bullying victimization and
academic achievement. This scenario would also provide an explanation for why some
research indicates a negative correlation between bullying victimization and academic
achievement while others do not. (Christopher et al., 2019). Thus, being the victim of
bullying can lower academic attainment.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, the causes of bullying from surrounding and lack of religious moral
education cause mental illness and low self-esteem. It is critical that everyone take a position
against bullying and work to make school a secure and friendly place for all students.
Speaking out against bullying, helping bullied people, and teaching kids how to be kind and
respectful of others are all effective ways to do this. Victimization through bullying is
frequently predictable. (Steven et al., 2018) In order to improve the social and emotional
climate in schools and prevent bullying victimization, school staff can develop programs and
policies that are in line with the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC)
paradigm. Working together, we can fight bullying and build a happier, more accepting
society. For all students to succeed, schools and communities must collaborate to establish a
secure and encouraging environment. By doing this, we can design a future in which bullying
won't be an issue.
