RESOLUTION NO. ____ SERIES OF 2023

A RESOLUTION ON THE ADOPTION OF MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 2 S. 2019 OR AN ORDINANCE

CLEARING THE PUBLIC ROADS AND PUBLIC PLACES OF ILLEGAL
STRUCTURES/CONSTRUCTIONS AND OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALATRAVA,
PROVINCE OF ROMBLON.

WHEREAS, Section 16 and 17 (b) of the Local Government Code of 1991 respectively mandates
Local Government Units to protect and preserve the safety and health of its inhabitants and the
maintenance of all local roads within their jurisdiction as a basic service and facility;

WHEREAS, President Rodrigo Duterte during his 2019 State of the Nation Address has directed all
local government units to reclaim public roads being used for private ends, to clear all roads of illegal
obstructions;

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular 2020-027 provides that Barangays shall be in-charge of
the conduct of road clearing operations in the barangay roads and minor0public use of streets within their
jurisdiction as well as the maintenance of other local roads turned over by the municipal government;

WHEREAS, Sangguniang Bayan Ordinance No.02 S. 2019 is the Municipal Ordinance of LGU
Calatrava that deals with Municipal Road Clearing Operations, the Composite Team, Prohibitions,
Exemption and its Implementation;

WHEREAS, there is a need to adopt the Municipal Ordinance of the LGU in Barangay
_________________ for uniformity and clarity on its implementation and for other legal purposes;
 NOW THEREFORE, on the motion of ___________________________, duly seconded by

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the barangay council session assembled that “A

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Sannguniang Bayan
of Calatrava, Romblon for their information and guidance;
