Poultry farming is a thriving global industry that involves
raising avian species
for their meat, eggs, or feathers. The term "poultry" encompasses
a diverse group of birds,
including chickens, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowl, geese, quail,
pigeons, ostriches, and pheasants.
Chickens are the most commonly farmed species worldwide, while
ducks and turkeys are more
prevalent in specific regions such as Asia and North America,
respectively. According to the
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO),
the poultry industry plays a
significant role in global food production.[1]
In Guimaras, Philippines, the local poultry industry faces
various challenges that
hinder its growth and its potential to contribute to the local
economy. Researchers have identified
a key problem: limited consumer awareness about the diverse range
of poultry products produced
locally in Guimaras, including turkeys, quails, ducks, geese, and
guinea birds. As a result, there is
minimal demand for these products, leading farmers to export
their goods to other cities such as Iloilo. Additionally, natural disturbances like trip suspensions, lockdowns, or bird flu outbreaks
can result in instances of overproduction when exports are not
possible.
This study aims to address these challenges by proposing the
development of a
web-based platform called the "Domestic Product Crowdsourcing
Platform". This platform will
utilize the concept of crowdsourcing, leveraging the internet,
social media, and smartphone apps
to gather information, opinions, and services from a large group
of people. By bridging the gap
between consumers and poultry owners, the platform will
facilitate the promotion and marketing
of locally produced poultry products. Poultry owners will have
the opportunity to showcase their
products and provide detailed information, while consumers will
gain access to a wide range of
poultry product information.
Furthermore, the platform will offer reservation and sales
options, allowing
consumers to secure their desired products. This will promote a
more efficient and organized
system for the poultry industry in Guimaras, benefiting both
producers and consumers alike. EVALUATION OF THE CASE
This study provides a detailed explanation of the procedures and
methods used to
analyze and design the system to accomplish its objectives. The
system's approach aims to support
researchers in developing a platform that facilitates the
connection between buyers and sellers or
producers, with the collaboration of the Department of
Agriculture (DA).
This chapter delves into the technical background of the project,
including the
specific details of the technology to be employed. It outlines
how the project will work, providing
a comprehensive project description.
Technicality of the Project
The researchers conducted a thorough review of literature and
evaluated various
technology solutions for the study. The aim is to find software
and technologies that will enhance
the development of the domestic products crowd sourcing platform.
This platform is designed as a
web-based system where poultry producers can showcase their
products for sale or trade, and
consumers can access information such as details about the
poultry, contact information, and
location. As the study is focused on Information Technology, certain technical terms may
only be understood by those familiar with the field of IT. The
following technical terms will be
utilized in the project: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap,
Sublime text 3, PHP, and MySQL.
RECOMMENDATION
This can be a recommendation about the implementation of the
system to the
respondents or a recommendation about the improvement of the
current system or a combination.
Out of the derived conclusion, the researchers came up with the
following recommendations for
the future researchers who will conduct the same study.
1. Add Accounting/Financial Statement in the producer’s side.
2. Generate Financial Reports.
3. Add Payment Methods/Mode of payment.
4. For payment try PayPal for testing.
5. Add Inventory of products (Stocks in and Stock out).
6. Add the Registration Process between the Consumers and
Producers.
7. Try to consult Agriculture Specialist for the categorization
of your products. 8. For Users, Add the Complete Details for the security of the system. (Contact Details,
Address etc.).
9. Encrypt the password of the users.
10. All important Information should be in required field.
11. Age should be Dynamic.
12. Add Notification Page.
13. Use 5W’s and 1H question for scope and limitation.
14. Discuss the conceptual framework.
15. Include the conceptual detailed process flow of the system

1. Kickstarter: Kickstarter is a well-known crowdfunding
platform that allows individuals to raise funds for various projects, including domestic product development. It provides a platform for creators to showcase their ideas and products to a wide audience, who can then pledge financial support in exchange for rewards or early access to the product.
2. Indiegogo: Indiegogo is another popular crowdfunding
platform that supports domestic product crowdsourcing. It enables entrepreneurs and innovators to raise funds for their projects, offering various campaign options such as fixed funding or flexible funding. Indiegogo also provides additional support and resources to help creators bring their products to market. 3. Quirky: Quirky is a unique crowdsourcing platform that focuses on product invention and development. It allows individuals to submit their product ideas, which are then evaluated by the Quirky community. If a product idea is selected, Quirky provides resources for product development, manufacturing, and distribution.
4. BackerKit: BackerKit is a platform that helps creators
manage their crowdfunding campaigns, including domestic product projects. It offers tools for managing backer data, surveys, and fulfillment, streamlining the process of delivering rewards to supporters.
5. Crowd Supply: Crowd Supply is a crowdfunding platform
specifically designed for hardware and technical projects. It supports domestic product crowdsourcing by providing resources for project creators, including manufacturing, fulfillment, and marketing assistance.
These platforms provide opportunities for individuals and small
businesses to showcase their domestic product ideas, raise funds, and connect with a community of supporters. However, it's important to thoroughly research and understand the terms, fees, and requirements of each platform before launching a crowdsourcing campaign.
