HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
In the summer holidays Ruth and David took their three children on
a trip to the seaside. From the clues given below can you piece
together their itinerary, revealing the time of each activity,
who most enjoyed it and what they were wearing?
M ETH O D :
Use the grid opposite to record the information obtained by the clues
using a cross to mark a definite “no” and a tick to show a definite
“yes”. Cross-reference your facts using a process o f elimination until
all o f the boxes are marked and the answers revealed.
Good luck logicians!
1 Josh couldn’t wait to take his bucket and spade to the beach
as soon as the one wearing a green T-shirt finished their
favourite activity.
2 The one in the sunglasses loves swimming in the sea; this wasn’t
David whose favourite activity came last.
3 Pip wore a sunhat to keep cool and her favourite activity
occurred in the afternoon. The puppet show began at 11am but
the two wearing hats were already bored by 11.15.
4 The family went on the Ferris wheel after Josh’s chosen activity
but before that picked by the person sporting the purple T-shirt.
5 Ben wore the same style o f top as the person who
loved ice-cream.

Oh No They Didn’t!
Ambridge is not known for doing things by halves, so it’s no
surprise to learn that in 1991 there were two Christmas
pantomimes. The only trouble is that both were Aladdin!
One version took place in Ambridge Hall while the other was
performed in the Village Hall. Below are two jum bled up cast
lists. The actors and directors are in the right production but they
seem to have forgotten what part they’re playing.
Can you help them out?
