Selected theme:

About the family.

During the pandemic lockdown, my family decided to be creative with our time

inside each of our homes. We organized weekly themed dinners to keep spirits high.

Each week, a different family chose a topic and everyone participated in the topic.

An unforgettable night was when my younger brother Miguel chose the song

"Tropical Paradise." We all dressed up in Hawaiian shirts, necklaces, and even wore

sunglasses indoors. Our dining room was adorned with artificial palm leaves,

inflatable flamingos, and pineapple-shaped decorations. We played upbeat

Hawaiian music and, for dinner, enjoyed homemade exotic fruit salads and delicious

tropical-inspired dishes.

It was a lovely change from the monotonous routine and brought much laughter

and joy to our families during such uncertain and difficult times. These themed

nightly dinners became a cherished tradition, creating lasting memories that helped

us stay connected and entertained during the pandemic.

2. Each student will write a text expressing:

• Did you attend the meeting with your tutor or participate in the STT?

I couldn't participate.

I could not attend Because I tried to contact the tutor by email and he did not

respond and I could not attend the STT because for work reasons I work a

very long schedule and for this reason I could not connect.

• If she did not attend, what was the reason?

I could not attend because I tried to contact the tutor by email and he did not

respond and I could not attend the STT because for work reasons I work a

very long schedule and for this reason I could not connect.

• How did she feel about the development of the activity?

Well, I felt a little uncomfortable more than anything when making the video

since it is very difficult for me to pronounce and address others.

• What do you think you should do to improve your English

pronunciation?

I should practice more pronunciation and verbs through interactive activities

or conversations with people who speak the foreign language.

• How do you think this activity contributed to your academic process?

It contributed a lot to my knowledge, it was an excellent activity that

contributed a lot to my vocabulary and allowed my pronunciation to be more

fluid, and in the writing part of the texts it allowed me to remember important

topics for speaking the foreign language.

• How do you think students would participate more in these types of

activities?
Well, I believe that meetings should be scheduled at times that are affordable

for everyone; since many of the students work until 7pm and cannot get

home to connect at that time.
