● The ice breaker for this homeroom activity is entitled “Put a finger
down..”. The facilitator will explain to the pupils the mechanics of the ice
breaker before starting the game; when someone in the class has done or
relate on something that's mentioned, they must put down one of their
fingers.
● Pupils will turn on their cameras and raise their both hands to show it on
the screen; microphones must remain muted. The facilitator will give
statements, and the pupils will put a finger down if they relate to the said
statement.
● The facilitator will put the statements in the presentation slide and read it
out loud as well for the pupils. Statements will be said one by one to
clearly see pupils putting their finger down on a statement that they can
relate to.
● The intention of this ice breaker is to introduce the simple roles of being
part of a family and the society; along with the awareness of the
importance of their role as a member of the family and the community.

V. Introduction
Hello, good morning girls and boys! Did you enjoy our ice breaker? We
noticed some of you have put all of their fingers down while some of you still
have some fingers left and that’s okay. It does not matter if you relate to all these
things or if you cannot relate to all of these. And we want to ask what you noticed
on the statements we gave, what is it about or who is it about?
Okay, thank you for that answer that is right. The title of our homeroom visit today
is One Big Family because we will talk about your roles in your family, church,
school and community. Are you excited? The statements we said a while ago are
your roles. If it’s not clear for you, let’s learn more about these things by doing
another activity, okay?
The title of our activity today is Pizza Roles, because we will learn about your
roles in a pizza. Do you have your circle paper, scissors, and color pen? If not,
we’ll give you time to get it and if yes, let’s start!
VII. Processing
1. What are your roles for each part? Why?
2. How do your roles help the bigger family you have? What do you think
will happen if you fail to do these roles?
3. Do you understand the importance of your role in your family? In the
community, school, and church?
4. What did you learn from the activity? Why?
VIII. Insights
Thank you for sharing your answers and insights about your roles,
the importance of it and especially about the environment you’re in. Just
like adults, children like you are also important because you have roles
and responsibilities which can help your family, school, community, and
church. It’s nice to hear that at a very young age you do your part, your
roles, for the betterment of your environment. Take these as a practice as
well, because someday you will be doing bigger roles, roles level up when
you grow older, okay? And of course, the role of the people who surround
you is a very helpful tool, it may not be for you directly or it may be
unnoticeable but they also play a big part on how the environment you are
in works for good. Every role is important, every person is important and
helpful. You are very lucky to be part of a big family, first is your family,
your mother, father, siblings, and of course church, school, and community
is part of your bigger family which is why the title of our homeroom activity
today is One Big Family!
IX. Integration
Everything starts at home, at your family so we prepared this video for you
to watch. It’s about family roles, let’s watch this.
I hope you learned something from the video about family roles. This is
important because if you can do your roles responsibly at home and
appreciate the roles of your family members, you’ll be able to do the same
for the bigger family that you have, right? We hope you continue to be
responsible until you grow up, okay?
Thank you so much again for listening to us, for being cooperative and
open about your insights. Goodbye Grade 4 – Confidence and have a
good day! ☺
X. Closing Prayer
● The session will end with a prayer.
Before we end this session, let’s bow down our heads and pray..
We really want to thank you Lord for all we've done today.
Thank you for the fun times, the laughter and the lessons.
Thank you for the wonderful insights, the writing and the drawing
For each and every child that's here, all the learning and the growing.
Come take us by your loving hand, and hold us through the night,
And when the morning sunshine comes, please fill us with your light.
Amen.
