very good clap!

Now, do you want to read a parable?

Let us read a parable entitled “The

Parable of the Rainbow Colors” by Juan M.
Flavier.

Once upon a time, all the colours in the world

started to quarrel. Green said “I am the most
important of you all! I am the sign of life and of
hope, without me all animals will die!” Blue
interrupted “Think of the sky and the sea, the
water is the basis of life. The sky gives peace and
serenity. Yellow chuckled “You are all so serious,
I bring laughter and warmth to the world. The sun
is yellow, the stars are yellow and even the moon
is yellow!” Orange spoke “I am the colour of
health and strength; I carry all the important
vitamins. I am also the colour of sunrise and the
sunset”. Red shouted “I am the ruler of you all! I
am the colour of danger and bravery; I bring fire
to the world. I am the colour of love and passion.
Without me the earth would be as empty as the
moon! Purple rose up and spoke “I am the colour
of royalty and power. Kings, bishops, and chiefs
have always chosen me for I am the sign of
authority and wisdom. Indigo spoke silently,
Think of me, you all become superficial. I am your
thoughts and reflection. I am the colour of
twilight and the deep waters. You need me for
balance and inner peace. Suddenly, there was a
startling flash of brilliance, thunder rolled and
boomed. The Rain spoke “You foolish colours, do
you not know that God made you all? Each of you Leo: In “The Parable of the Rainbow
has specific purpose, uniqueness and differences. Colors” cooperation and responsibility
He loves you all! Join hands with one another and were greatly emphasized. It was the rain
come with me. He will stretch you across the sky, which reminded the rainbow colors to
that you can live together in peace for you are a stop quarrelling and to work together
sign of hope!” instead.

What have you gained from the parable Leo?

All: Yes, ma’am.

E. APPLICATION
At this moment we have learned that each one
of us has our own roles in the world. We must
stop quarrelling and to work together instead. *playing the game*

With that being said, cooperation is really

important, do you agree?

Now, we are going to play another game. But

first, I want all of you to pick one candy from this
bowl. These candies will represent your group
(blue, red, and yellow). After picking one candy
from the bowl, you can now go to your group.

Each of the group will have different kinds of

activity; each group will present their
understanding of the parable using the following
activities. Each group will be given 3 minutes to
prepare and 3 minutes to perform.

 Role Play
- Perform a short role play as to how the
colours were having an argument.
 Poster Making
- Using art materials draw an illustration
that represents your understanding of
the parable.
 Poem Making
- Make a Poem that tells the moral
lesson of the parable.

Guide Questions:
1. How is this change (colors became
rainbow) relevant to the existence of each
color?
2. Do you think we can use the moral lesson
of the story?
3. How will you encourage others to
cooperate in societal activities?
4. If you were one of the colors how would
you deal with the change?
5. Is this story helpful for you as a person?
Why?
