I learned that Department Order No. 53, s. 1987, refers to a policy

related to bilingual education in the Philippines. The Philippines' 1987
Constitution, which highlights the value of bilingual education in the nation's
educational system, created this policy. In the Philippines, bilingual education
usually entails using English and Filipino, the country's official language, as
teaching languages. This method seeks to guarantee that students are fluent in
both languages. In which these are necessary for involvement in a variety of
national and international activities as well as for communication and
education.

I realized that Bilingual education policy is essential in a nation such as

the Philippines. Given that there are many regional languages and dialects in
our nation, there is a diversified linguistic landscape. Fostering national unity
and bridging communication difficulties are two benefits of bilingual education.
While simultaneously readying learners to engage with the global community,
where English is frequently the dominant language of exchange. Further, it
covers language competency requirements, curriculum development, teacher
preparation, and the incorporation of bilingualism into various topics and
grade levels.

Based from that realization, adopting the principles of bilingual

education is essential to create a welcoming and encouraging classroom
community. Understanding that students in the Philippines come from a
variety of language origins, I will work to foster an environment in the
classroom that honors and embraces this diversity. My goal is to give every
student the chance to become proficient in both English and Filipino by
incorporating both into my lesson plans and activities. Moreover, I will adapt
my lessons to the diverse language proficiency levels of my students and will
provide support as needed.
