The term “ideology” was conceived in 1976 by


French philosopher Desttut de Tracy to refer to
new science that endeavored to uncover origins
of conscious thought and ideas.

breakdown of feudalism and the development.

ELEMENTS OF LIBERALISM

1. Individualism: It is the central principle of


liberalism.
2. Freedom: The principal attribute of liberal
ideology.
3. Reasons: matters concerning their interests.
4. Equality: Liberals are committed to political
equality.
5. Toleration: assures individual liberty and
social enrichment.
6. Consent: basis of social relationship and
authority in the minds of liberals.
7. Constitutionalism: the limited government
advocates results from diffusion of government
power.
