Q.1) Attempt all Parts :
(a) Define fuel. What are the different types of fuels and how are they classified?
(b) What is calorific value of a fuel? Define gross calorific value and net calorific value of a fuel and write dow
the relation between them.
(c) Calculate the EMF of the cell: Zn∣Zn2+(0.001M) ∣∣ Cu2+(0.1M)∣Cu
The standard oxidation potential of Cu/Cu2+ half-cell is -0.34 and Zn/Zn2+ is +0.76 V. Determine the
spontaneity of the reaction.
