Livery Installation and Configuration

iFly 737-MAX
For Prepar3D v5.3

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Liveries not specifically made for models of the iFly 737-MAX will
not function properly.

To repeat: A livery must be specifically made for the iFly 737-

MAX.

Please post in the Painters Support Forum with requests for iFly
737-MAX liveries.

Introduction:

The following describes the process of installing liveries. The process is actually simple,
but multiple steps are required. Each step must be followed or the livery will not
display in Prepar3D.

Any livery designed for the iFly 737-MAX may be installed by following the
examples in this document The excellent Southwest Airlines 737-MAX8 livery by
Steve Drabek is used as the example. Additional liveries may be found at:

http://library.flight1.net/
NOTE: See page 5 for Manual Installation Steps.

Automatic Livery Installation Steps:

The iFly 737-MAX installer also provides a tool to automatically install liveries. The repaint
must include a livery.cfg file or the automatic installation feature will not work.

If the livery does not include a livery.cfg file, users must install the livery and configure the
aircraft as outlined below in Manual Installation Steps.

The automatic livery tool installs at the following location:

The installer also places a shortcut to the GetLiveries tool on the Desktop: “GetLiveries
737-MAX P3D v5”

Clicking on the Desktop shortcut or the source file opens the following screen:

Note: This livery list is very early in the beta process. Upon release, the list will contain all
the liveries for the iFly 737-MAX which are available on the Flight 1 servers

Next click “Settings”:

The above screenshot shows default settings. Select options as desired then click “Close”
to save them.

Next, click the livery you want to install:

Note the “Download Livery” icon in the screenshot above. Click it and the selected livery
will download and install.

Also note the links at the bottom of Get Liveries tool right hand panel.

The option to autostart the MyFleet Tool is on by default, so when the livery completes
installation, you will see the following screen for aircraft configuration. If the repaint is not
preconfigured, it requires configuration as outlined below in Manual Installation Steps,
Aircraft Configuration.

Some liveries may be preconfigured for the aircraft and company which the livery
represents. For example, Maxime Konareff’s excellent Iceland Air repaints have this
feature. To access automatic aircraft configuration, click “Import” as shown on the
screenshot above and you will see this:

Click the configuration file which you want to install then click “OK”. Then click “Next” to
go to the following Configuration Manager Section and click “Done”. Your aircraft is then
configured. You may check the configuration options by viewing each of the tabs
discussed in the following section on Manual Livery Installation.

Manual Installation Steps:

NOTE: The GetLiveries Tool includes manual installation for liveries not on the
Flight 1 Servers. To use that function, click on “Manual Install” at the bottom
right of the tool screen and follow the directions. As noted above, the livery must
include a livery.cfg file or the Tool will not work.

The following instructions are for livery installation when the Flight 1 Tool is not
used.

1. Download the repaint and save it to a temporary location on your computer.

2. Next, extract the compressed livery file and open the Readme, if that file is supplied.

Make a note of the aircraft Registration Number – you will need it later. If there is no
Readme containing the aircraft Registration Number, proceed with the installation, get
the Registration Number from the installed livery and add it as explained below.
For this example, use Registration Number N8788L
3. Download the repaint and save it to a temporary location on your computer.

4. Next, extract the compressed livery file and open the Readme, if that file is supplied.
5. Now copy and paste the actual livery folder, “Texture.SWA_N-8788L, to
