Position title: IT Technician

Department: IT

Reports to: Head of Operations & General Manager

Work Station: Kidamali, Iringa

Candidate Description
A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software, hardware, and
various internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have
extraordinary troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

They will maintain and restore normal IT service operations within agreed service levels and business
priorities and minimize the adverse impact on business operations for Shafa Agro Ltd and its clients.

The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the
role of technology in business sustainability.

Duties and Responsibilities


o Carries out servicing and repairs activity in accordance with IT standards

o Carries out all pre-requisite works for the installations of computers, peripheral devices,
telephone, and other infrastructure components

o Carries out routine preventative maintenance of various types of computers, printers, and other
data communication equipment and peripherals used in Shafa

o Maintains spares, to ensure stock thresholds are met and regular updates are provided for current
requests and future projects for repair of any faulty devices

o Tests and accepts new releases of all software upgrades, enhancements, and modifications to
ensure timely implementation of system upgrades to maximize benefits from improved business
functionalities

o Conducts application specialist training programmes for users on new developments and
functionalities to ensure that the systems are effectively and optimally utilized for their business
benefits.

o Liaise and coordinate with external IT providers/stakeholders to ensure optimal deployment and
usage of IT systems.
o Troubleshoot o365 issues including connectivity, access, and mobility.

o Administering Deputy, Service Now, Dynamics 365application

o Support access to BRS, FIDS, MMS, Telematics, ARINC Systems

o Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality

o Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer
equipment

o Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing
their work.

Required Skills and Qualifications


o Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or any other related field.

o At least 3 years proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position

o Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

o Excellent communication ability

o Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

o In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks

o Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principle

o Ability to work in a remote environment
