Foreign Conditional Exemption

Dear Madam or Sir,

I am writing to request that you grant me a foreign conditional matriculation exemption.

I understand that there is a two-year rule requirement for matriculation exemption to be approved
for foreign high school qualifications, however, there are a few factors that have affected my
ability to meet the requirement.

Firstly, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on my education. During this time,
our school implemented a homeschooling policy and since I have diagnosed ADHD (which
adversely influences learning), without access to medication in the United Arab Emirates, I
required additional time to prepare for examinations. It resulted in my inability to complete the
AS Level certificate within the stipulated timeframe.

The second reason why I had to defer my examinations for another examination series (year) was
because of financial challenges. During the pandemic, my parents experienced a loss of income
and could not afford the high cost of Cambridge international examinations. Consequently, I
completed the IGCSE and AS Level certificates/qualifications over a longer period than
determined.

It is in view of the above-mentioned that I hope you would positively review my application and
offer me the exemption I require to commence with university studies in 2024.
