Ma'am. Okay Ma'am. Okay Ma'am, we understand. (The class will response who's absent or there's no
absent) Ma'am, last meeting we have discussed about the argumentative essay. Argumentative essay is
a writing that requires the student to investigate a topic, collect, generate, and evaluate evidence, and
establish a position on the topic in a concise manner.
Okay very good. In argumentative essay, we are arguing to defend our chosen side supported by reasons
and evidences. Moreover, we are also presenting the pros and cons of the both sides to let the audience
decide what will they chose. Now, let us move to another topic. But first, let us have an activity and we
will call it 'Pinoy Henyo'. You are going to choose your partner. One of you will guess the word and the
other one will answer 'YES, NO, and MAYBE/IT CAN BE' only. I'll also give a clue if it is very difficult for
you to guess the word. 1.DICTIONARY (Clue:lists the words of a language (typically in alphabetical order)
and gives their meaning) 2.REPORTER (Clue; responsible for delivering updates on the current happening

b.determine the ways to present informative writing/text; and c.recognize the tone in writing
informative text. C. Presenting Examples From the words that you guessed a while ago, what do you
think is our lesson for today?Yes, correct. We will further discuss the informative writing. D. Discussing
New Concept and Practicing New Skills # 1 What is informative writing? Do you have any idea? Yes, very
good. Will you read the definition. I think the lesson has something about information, Ma'am? Ma'am,
informative writing is about giving information about a certain topic. providing useful knowledge or
ideas Informative writing is anything that is written with the aim to explain a topic to the reader is
informative writing - the reader will often come away having learned something new and interesting.
Theprimarypurposeof informative/explanatory writing is to increase the understanding of the reader.
Ma'am, we usually find informative texts in newspapers, books, reports, and dictionaries.

Okay, very good. Where do we usually find informative texts? Very good. E. Discussing New Concept and
Practicing New Skills # 2 Now, let us know the different styles/ ways how to deliver an informative
text/writing. Here's the graph where we can see the ways to deliver an informative writing. We have 5
ways in writing informative texts. The first is by means ofdescriptions. In this way, we are just stating the
details of a certain topic. We are stating facts but without an argumentative or persuasive tone. We are
just presenting details about the topic. Example, the topic about 'The Highest Mountain' or 'The Golden
Retriever Who Saved His owner'. We are just focusing on the details of a certain topic. Will you give me
topics or titles that we may use description approach in informative writing.Ma'am, another example is
'The Sinigang of Philippines' Ma'am, another example is David and Goliath.

Yes, correct. Next way of presenting is throughcomparison and contrast. In this approach, we are
describing the similarities and differences. But, remember, that even we are comparing and contrasting
two sides of the topic, we should not be bias and the tone should be formal and neutral. Example is 'The
Lifestyle During and Before Covid-19', 'Cats and Tigers'. Will you give me your examples. The 3rdway is
throughproblem and solution. In this approach, we are presenting the problem and the possible
solutions that we may use. Example, 'How to Prevent the Spread of Covid 19', 'Controlling the
Displeasing Noise of Students'. Will you give me your own examples of topics that we may present
trough problem and solution way. Second to the last is throughcause and effect. In this approach, we are
stating the cause and effect of the subject. Example, 'Global effects of Covid-19 Pandemic'. Another
example is,'The Effects of Cellphone in the Study Habits of the Students'. Will you give me your own
examples of topics that we may present trough cause and effect. Last one is throughsequence. We can
use this in describing the series of events, or a process in some sort of order. We can use this approach
when we are enumerating steps, or procedures, process, or even stating the organization of
ideas.Ma'am, example of topic that we may present trough problem and solution way is 'How to prevent
Flashfloods'. Ma'am, example of topic that we may present trough cause and effect is ''The effects of
fast food and junk food on overall health'. Ma'am, example of topic that we may present trough
sequence is 'Steps in Assembling Toy Car'. .

Will you give me your own examples of topics that we may present trough sequence. Do you now
understand the different ways I presenting informative writing? F. Developing Mastery Now, let's
proceed to another activity to ensure your mastery with the discussion we have. I'll group you into 3
groups and this will be a message relay game. I'll be giving different topics/titles of text and the
representative will come and read the given item. After that, he/she will determine the item if it is a
topic for description, comparison and contrast, problem and solution, cause and effect or a sequence.
After determining what is the way presenting the topic, he/she can relay the answer until the last
person will give me the correct answer. 1. Education Through Online Platforms and Face to Face Classes.
(Compare And Contrast) 2. The Negative Impacts of The Internet on Young Children. (Cause and Effect)
3. What Causes Earthquakes and How (Causeand Effect) 4. How to Cook Adobo (Sequence) 5. My Perfect

ways in informative writing? Okay, good. I.Evaluating learning True or False 1. Description way is where
