Shen is at a travel agency. His parents are coming to NYC to visit him. He wants to plan their trip with in
taking a sightseeing tour. Go sightseeing
Types/kinds of group tour: walking / hiking / bus / tour / boat / ferry / helicopter / hot air balloon tours /
segway tours (motorized vehicle with 2 wheels, handle bars, controlled by the way the rider distributes their
weight)
Travel agent :

Customer:
- I’d like to show my parents the city. I need a ticket for different sights.
- My parents can’t walk for a long time. What kind of tours do you have?

CAR VOCABULARY
A. gas/petrol/service station
- I need to get gas / I need to fill up (the tank)
- The car needs fuel / need to pay/ break down
- Is there a carwash available?
- Is there a place to add/put air to my tires? Check tyre pressure.

B. Steering Wheel (verb : to steer )
C. Speed limit (road sign)

b.going too fast = speeding / exceeding the speed limit / to go over the speed limit
c. If you speed, you may get a ticket and have to pay a fine.
D. flat tire/tyre
a. to have a flat, to have/get a puncture.
b. you keep a spare tire in the back = trunk/boot of your car (front = bonnet)

Future plans
For plans we’ve made already, we use the ING form.
This weekend, I’m having dinner with friends.
On Saturday, I’m having dinner with my friends at a French restaurant at 8 PM.
On Sunday at 11 AM, I’m going to see an art exhibit.
On Saturday at 1 PM, I’m going for a walk around the city with friends.
On Sunday at 4 PM, I’m going to see/seeing a play with my friends.
