How to gain admission with your score even if you score below 200

If you can consider reading this book to the end, I promise, you will secure your
admission this year by God grace

INTRODUCTION
My name is Amoo kamaldeen olamiwale popularly known as DR sense, I'm educational
consultant, the man behind causes of low jamb score and how to murder jamb once. The
founder of SEC TUTORIAL (the online tutorial like no other).

What right do I have to write this book?

I have written the UTME examination with a score of 204, 238 and 294 without admission.
Besides, I have seen so many jambite with a good UTME score like 300+ without
admission. you're going to find out why people are denied admission despite high UTME
scores.
What others people are saying about this book

Ensure you read this to the end.

The reason behind the book was because of this 👇

📌🙇🏻‍♂️
UTME results were released and many people were emotionally down because of their
score

A low or high score doesn't secure your admission. How you use your score will
determine.

1.7 million + jambite are battling for 500k admissions space. It is certain that 1.2 million
will not gain admission this year. I will be teaching you how to secure your admissions
even with a low jamb score. This has nothing to do with upgrading.
There's nothing like upgrading except if you want to downgrade your life...

I know you are emotionally down because of your UTME results. I can relate because I
have been in your shoes before. It is even worse than yours. Or have you been in a

🌝
situation whereby you wrote all ssce( be waec, neco, gce, neco gce etc) and you keep on
failing your best subject . Have you? I have written 7 ssce exams. I finished secondary
school in 2012 and have my O'Level result in 2017. My first Jamb was in 2014 before

❓🌝
gaining admissions in 2019. You can see how rough my journey was. Can you compare
your situation with mine .

No matter your situation, always give thanks to God because you will always be in the
middle. You are greater than someone and someone will always be greater than you

A low UTME score is not fatal, it's a blessing in disguise 💯👌 . To find out how to gain
admission with your score ensure you read this to the end. In fact, 60% of those who
scored low might gain admissions while 60% of those who scored high might not.
Admission is not all about UTME score. No doubt a high score is always a big chance but
if not used well it might end up being a waste. Also if you used your low score wisely by

doing the needful, your admission is guaranteed.
What is now the needful

The major determiner of your admission is to 👇

ACCEPT YOURSELF THE WAY YOU ARE.

It is either you face reality now or reality will face you later.

As I said earlier, this year's admissions is a battle between you and 1.7 million others for
500, 000 admissions space.

NOw how can you secure your admissions in this 500,000 space?

First, there is a difference between the benchmark and the cutoff of marks.

Your UTME score is a benchmark that qualifies you to apply for various schools, while
your departmental cutoff marks are calculated by the students' performance.

JAMB will release the UTME minimum benchmark for all Universities.
School can increase it but can't reduce it.

For example, the Unilag, UI and OAU UTME benchmark is always 200. Any candidate that
scored below 200 can't apply.

Below is how school departmental cutoff marks for each course are calculated 👇
I will be using unilag and UI as examples throughout 📌.
👇👇👇👇👇
Unilag department cutoff marks for each course are calculated using the format

The University of Lagos calculates the aggregate scores of applicants by weighting 20%
to O-Level results, 50% to the UTME score, and 30% to the post UTME score.

In this system of scoring: A1 = 4.0 points; B2 = 3.6 points; B3 = 3.2 points; C4 = 2.8
points; C5 = 2.4 points; C6 = 2.0 points. Grades must be obtained at ONE SITTING.

The following are the steps you should take to calculate your aggregate score:
Divide your UTME score by 8.

Use the form below to calculate your O-level aggregate score using only your 5 required
subjects for the course you applied for.

Get your Post UTME score.

Add the component scores from steps 1 - 3 above and the score you get is your total
aggregate score.

For example, Kamal scored 294 in UTME, b3 in five of his Olevel subjects and 21 in his
Post UTME kaml aggregate is now 294/8 + (3.2*5) + 21

36.75+16+21 =73.75 is Kamal's total aggregate 📌.

For UI 👇👇
JAMB points are divided by eight and post utme points divided by 2.

Let us look at this simple illustration. For example, korede scored 280 (out of 400) points
at JAMB and 66 (out of 100) at post UTME. Korede will have to divide 280 by 8, which
equals 35, and divide 66 by 2, which equals 33. Korede's total aggregate is now 68.

Now let's move to how admissions are given by each school.

First jamb has nothing to do with school admissions 💯👌

. It is a school that gives
admissions. Jamb only monitors the admissions process and authenticates it through
caps.

🤪. He shocks
🤣
Also, school has little to zero effect on cutoff marks for each course
you . Oya, wait, let me explain.

Each school cutoff marks are determined by students' performance and below 👇 is how
it is calculated.

Let's assume 1000 jambites applied for unilag mbbs course and unilag has 100
admissions space for them. After the unilag post results is out, all mbbs aspirants

💯📌
aggregates will be arranged in ascending order and the first 100 highest aggregates will
be picked . The last person aggregate on the list (i.e the 100th person)will be the
cut off mark for that year.

🤪
As you can see, it is the students' performance that determines the school cutoff mark
for each course. School don't just wake up and fix cut-off marks .
How schools give admissions and set up department cutoff marks for all courses.

Types of admissions in Federal Universities.

Jamb divide Admissions quota into
Merits/catchment/Elds

Merit carry 45%, 35% is for catchment area and 20% to those from educationally less
developed states (ELDS)

Merit admissions 👌👇
👇
Institutions gave admissions to aspirants according to their total aggregate score in
ascending order. I.e those with high score will make the merit list

Here is how merit cutoff of mark is being calculated in Universities 👇

If the admissions quota for accounting is 200 students and 1000 aspirants applied for
accounting in unilag for example.

45% of 200 = 90.

After post utme or screening ( for some schools), all aspirants' aggregates will be
calculated and arranged in ascending order.

💯
The first 90 highest score will be admitted and the 90th aggregate on the list will be the
merit cutoff for that year .

If you aggregate is above or equal the cutoff mark, you admissions is 💯 guaranteed
Let move to catchment area

What Is The Meaning Of Universities Catchment Area?

Catchment areas are those states set out by the Federal Government for Federal
Universities, that candidates from that state have more chances of gaining admission
into the University which they have been specified to be among the catchment states.

States within the same geographical area as the university are considered to be under
catchment area mostly. Students from the states specified as Catchment states are
considered privileged as they have more chances to be offered admission to the school
where they are in the Catchment area.

UNILAG, OAU and most federal universities in the West Catchment Area are all the
western states, such as Ekiti,Lagos,Ogun,Ondo, Osun and Oyo, while in unizek, Futo and
most federal universities in the East catchment area are all the eastern states. Such as
imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia
Here is how the catchment cutoff mark is being calculated at universities 👇
If the admissions quota for accounting is 200 students and 1000 aspirants apply for
accounting.

35% of 200 = 70.

Now 70 will be divided by 6

Western states = 16.6

After post UTME, all aspirants' aggregates from each catchment state will be calculated
and arranged in ascending order.

💯
The first 16 highest scores will be admitted and the 16th person aggregate on the list will
be the state catchment cutoff for that year .

If your aggregate is above or equal to your state cutoff mark, your admission is
guaranteed. That is why it's advisable to choose a university that has your state in the
catchment area in order to increase your chances.

Below are universities and their catchment area.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES AND THEIR CATCHMENT AREAS

FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES WITHOUT CATCHMENT AREAS:

University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT)

Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB)

Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE)

University of Abuja (UNIABUJA)

University of Ibadan (UI)

Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU)

Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM).

Now let's move to ELDS.

Another set of states which also has more chances of gaining admission are called the
Educationally less developed states (ELDS).

All the 19 northern States + Ebonyi, Bayelsa, River and Cross River are states under
ELDS

Here is how the ELDS cutoff mark is being calculated at universities 👇

If the admissions quota for accounting is 200 students and 1000 aspirants applied for
accounting .

20% of 200 = 40.

Now 40 will be divided by 23 ELDS states = 1. Something.

It must, however, be noted that this does not mean that schools don't admit students
outside the catchment and ELDS area. Instead, the catchment and ELDS areas are given
special consideration.

JAMB admission is defined in areas of merit, catchment areas, and educationally less
developed states (ELDS).

The fact is that if a candidate from another state outside the catchment area beats the
MERIT cut-off mark of the University for the chosen course, he or she will be admitted
regardless of the Catchment Policy

Let's move to supplementary admissions 💯👌

💯👌
Aspirants have veto power once they are above or equal merit and catchment list, but
once you are below, your school has veto power over your admissions .

Supplementary admissions are the admissions where universities consider aspirants

that are close to either the merit cutoff mark or catchment cutoff marks.

💯
Your school might give you your desired course or transfer you to a less competitive
course where there is still space for more admissions .

Some schools like UI etc do release some courses you can change to after the merit
cutoff mark has been released.

However, the school can give some candidates admissions based on their hidden

👌
reason. You might be 0.1 below the merit cutoff and some at 3. Below will be admitted
under the supplementary list

SCHOOL AND COURSE YOU SHOULD AVOID WITH low UTME CORE.

📌
If you score below 200, avoid school like unilag, UI and OAU because it will end up in
waste of money and time

FACE REALITY NOW BEFORE IT FACE YOU LATER

If you score less than 200, go to a state university or federal university that accepts
people below 200 and avoid competitive courses like mbbs, accounting, law, mass
communication, pharmacy etc. Ensure you calculate your aggregate to see your chance.
If you are not 2 points above the previous cutoff for your course, kindly change to a
course that is similar to your dream course. Having at least 2 points above the previous
cutoff mark will make you be on a safer side if the cutoff increases this year.

You can also apply for polytechnics like Yaba tech, Ibadan poly, kogi poly etc to reduce
your stress.

Hear this 👇
Don't miss needful with faithful if you don't want to fail faithfully

Stop looking for the miracle that you didn't create. Face reality now before reality faces

📌
you. University is not a determinant of success . Mbbs, accounting, law etc are not a
determinant of success . Most of you are going on a course that is again your
potential talent. If you want to study a medical course by force, there are many courses
you can change to now. Go and search for all the medical courses and see the one that

🤪
fits your potential value + if your UTME score can fit into the course. If you don't change
now, when admissions start, even if you beg for toilet education then you will not see .
Even the 0.1 below the merit cutoff mark can deny you admission.

Face Reality Now Before Reality Face You

Courses like IRPM etc ( Industrial relations and personnel management) are some of the

👌💯
best courses that most commercial students don't know about. Go and google the
importance of the course and see its employment opportunities .

Search for the number of courses in your department and their importance. Get yourself
educated and pick the one that is close to your course now.

Face Reality Before Reality Faces You

If you have 270 below, avoid competitive courses like accounting, law, pharmacy,

💯
engineering, computer science etc at unilag, UI and some other top schools. You have
opportunity to change to a good course now and secure your admission with ease. I

📌
was denied admissions with my 294 UTME score + 21/30 in unilag post utme because of
a point below merit cutoff mark . Does that mean Unilag is evil? Capital NO.

Hear this 👇
You have zero to 1% chance of gaining admission once you are not on the Merit list.

HOW TO KNOW YOU CHANGE OF GAINING ADMISSIONS

FIRST, find out how your school calculates their aggregate scores and calculate yours.
Some schools used O'Level, UTME and post utme score e g OAU Unilag etc while some
score used only jamb and post UTME e g UI, UNIBEN etc

Second, calculate your utme and O'Level grade now and subtract it from previous
departmental cutoff marks of your score and add at least 3. Points to it, that is post
UTME score that you must score to be on a saver side.
Ok you don't understand ❓ right?

Let me use unilag for example for easy understanding.
Did you just say why am I using only Unilag because you are not an aspirant of Unilag
Well I'm sorry for the inconveniences. I'm using Unilag and UI so often because I

❓ 😂
understand the school admissions process like my palm. Nevertheless I will also use

😂😂
UNIBEN as an example also. Did you just say yes ooh you are from eastern states
Oshee Omo Igbo

Anyway back to our discussion.

Let's assume you are an aspirant of Unilag with a UTME score of 294 and 2 B2, 2 c4 and
1 A1 in my main O'Level grade as an accounting aspirant.
When I say your main O'Level subjects as an accounting aspirant, I mean mathematics,

English, economics and two of government, commerce and accounting. Your O'Level
point= 16.8. You don't how I calculate your O'Level grade, right
don't worry, I have explained how to calculate some schools' departmental cutoff marks.
You will read that later in this book. Just continue reading

Your UTME SCORE will be divided by 8 (294/8) = 36.75

Your total aggregate= 53.55
Accounting Previous departmental cutoff mark is 73 minus your current aggregate
(73-53.55) 19.45. Now you are to add 3 to 19.45 equal to 22.45. 22.45+/30 should be your
target mark if you want to be on the safer side.

Let quickly use UNIBEN as a example also.

Let's assume you are an aspirant of UNIBEN with a UTME score of 280 as a mbbs
aspirant. UNIBEN only used Jamb and post utme for calculation of departmental cutoff
marks. You just have to have at least 5 credits in your main subjects

Your UTME SCORE will be divided by 8 (280/8) = 35= Your current aggregate.
assuming UNIBEN Mbbs Previous departmental cutoff mark is 78 minus your current
aggregate (78-35)= 43 Now you are to add 3 to 43 equal to 46. 46+/50 should be your
target mark if you want to be on the safer side

Hope you understand how you can calculate your chance of gaining admission now ❓
Ok. I'm glad you are.

Did you just asked what of those that are not writing post UTME ❓
Yes you are still going to used the same format and see if your current aggregate is
above your course previous cutoff mark by at least 3.
The best and the sweetest admission is to be on the merit list because that is the only

💯
admission that is guaranteed. Any other one, be it connection or any other form, has 0 to
1% sure . know this now, know peace.

📌
Doing JAMB every year is a waste of time and money. We are in the era when certificates

😂
have little to nothing to do with success . Certificates and degrees have little effect
now. We are in the Era of sabificate now . If you are still having this mindset of

👏👏
finishing university with a good grade and start looking for a nonexistent job,

🎓👌💯📌
congratulations . You have finished the foundation of your life of poverty . You will
start living there after your graduation

I'm sorry if that is too harsh. I'm just trying to let you know the world we are now

REASON WHY YOU CAN CAUSE YOURSELF, YOUR ADMISSIONS EVEN WITH HIGH
UTME SCORE

following jamb subject comb instead of a school comb

😁😁😁
You will cause yourself admission once you follow JAMB subject requirements. Doing

💯
registration school is the only one that gives admission, not jamb. Once you fail
to follow the school subjects requirements, forget your admission .

For example: Lasu requirement for mathematics in UTME subject for political science,
while it is optional in jamb requirements.

Changing to a course that doesn't fit in with your UTME SUBJECTS combo

Before making a change of course, check the school requirements to know if your UTME
subjects fit in the wrong UTME SUBJECTS for a particular course, means automatic
disqualification.

over excitement with JAMB score

😁🙇🏻‍♂️
Your jamb score excitement should end the day you pick up your post UTME form. You

🥴
need to pass the school cutoff to gain admission if you like score 400 in UTME,
once you fail to pass your school post utme past mark forget your admission .

I know of someone that scored 294 in UTME and scored 11 in unilag exams, which was
below the Unilag mark. Even if the person's total aggregate is above the merit cutoff
marks, Unilag will not even consider him at all.

The earlier you start preparing for your post UTME exams, the better.

lack of knowledge about the institution admission process*

You need to know your school of choice admission process. How to calculate aggregate,
o'level grade, Documents needed for the admission process etc

But there is a saying that goes in this way!

*Whatever you do not have the proper knowledge about, will end up eating you up
ignorantly"*

😁😁 stop
🌝😁
Baber that went to a bald my village, his unfortunately was from his ignorance
be ignorance of your choice of institution

Different arrangements of names in different documents*

😂 🥴🥴
The arrangement of your name in waec is different from jamb. You are sule Lola abike in
waec while you are abike sule Lola in jamb . Who are you trying to confuse? .
Your name in all your documents must be arranged in the same order.
Looking for connections instead of studying to past merit list

😁😁 any other process la stress la

😁😁😁😁
The surest admission is to past merit list
problem

🥴🥴
*There are 420 ways to gain admission, number one is the merit list. The rest are
419*

Check out what Fola, which has more than 2 connections in Unilag, has to say 👇
Good day .

My name is Fola.

I just want to talk a little about connection stuff.

I know many people would have plugs and those that would pay 160k and the rest.

One thing we don't know is that.

Unilag admission is sooooo straight forward and as straightforward as it is, it makes it

hard to bend. One of the reasons is that it is hard to enter.

I'm not saying there are no legit connections, but truth be told, in this school of first
choice, the connection is not 100% sure and in most federal universities.

I know y'all would be asking me how I knew that. Well, let me tell you 👇

The audit officer at unilag is my uncle.

I also know one of the admissions officers.

I know the Hod of architecture.

I know one of the professors in Law

I know another head professor in engineering. Guess what I repeated jamb 😹

Funny story. But today isn't the day for that. You can't tell me these guys don't have pull
ups in unilag.

You know, I mean they give professors a slot or two admissions for each and the other
guys are the ones actually running this admissions sheet, but my little mistake was
thinking that connection was everything.

The surest way of admission to UNILAG and most top federal universities, like UI, OAU
etc, is your merit admission

You don't need to cajole anyone to help you because even if they try to help you, they
aren't sure.

I wrote JAMB thrice. And still I didn't even end up going to UNILAG, but if it was
connections, I have more than 3 plugs for Unilag. I finally gained admission in 2021 to
study business education at Unilag. Unfortunately, Ekiti state university has given me
accounting.

To top it all, not everyone will get admission. You should know that. Use the cut off mark
for last year as your bench mark and set a goal for yourself. If you feel it's realizable, then
go for it. If not Omo, do a change of course/institution, or have a back-up plan. "No go de
wait for unnecessary connection", education is getting worse day by day now, for you to
be repeating UTME

Yes. The best admission is still the merit list. I can even tell you that you'd miss the cut
off by 0.1 and someone would miss by 5 and they'd pick that one over you in
supplementary (with no connection)

The best admission still remains on the merit/catchment list, said by Fola 😊
Now let move to 👇
HOW TO CALCULATE VARIOUS SCHOOL POST UTME

HOW TO CALCULATE UI AGGREGATE 👇👇

JAMB points are divided by eight and post utme points divided by 2.

Let us look at this simple illustration. For example, korede scored 280 (out of 400) points
at JAMB and 66 (out of 100) at post UTME. Korede will have to divide 280 by 8, which
equals 35, and divide 66 by 2, which equals 33. Korede's total aggregate is now 68

HOW TO CALCULATE UNILAG AGGREGATE

The University of Lagos calculates the aggregate scores of applicants by weighting 20%
to O-Level results, 50% to the UTME score, and 30% to the post UTME score.

In this system of scoring: A1 = 4.0 points; B2 = 3.6 points; B3 = 3.2 points; C4 = 2.8

HOW TO CALCULATE UNIBEN CUTOFF MARK
Here is how to calculate your UNIBEN’s POST-UTME aggregate score
From your JAMB-UTME SCORE, divide your score by 8 and your POST-UTME score will
be divided by 2. The aggregate score will be the addition of the two.

Example:

If you get 240/400 in JAMB, 240/8=30

and get 62 in UNIBEN’s POST-UTME, 62/2 = 31

The aggregate is the addition of the two which is in percentage; (35 + 40 ) = 61%

Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB Post UTME: How to Calculate

FUNAAB Aggregate Score For Admission

HOW TO CALCULATE
FUNAAB CUTOFF MARK

Here is how to calculate Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB’s) call-up

point / JAMB-POST-UTME aggregate score

Your JAMB-UTME score is 50%

Your POST-UTME score is 30%

Your WAEC/NECO result is 20%

To calculate your WAEC/NECO result in percentage, FUNAAB had a score for each grade
which is a follow

A1 – 6 marks
B2 – 5 marks
B3 – 4 marks
C4 – 3 marks
C5 – 2 marks
C6 – 1 mark

others are obviously 0 mark

These scores must be obtained from 5 compulsory subjects as related to your course.

Example:

Assuming you made b2 in your 5 relevant subjects. When you multiply the individual B2
by 6 and sum them up, I would got 25 = 25 *⅔ = 50/3=16.66

If you scored 280 in my UTME examination, that means, 280/8 =35

If your post utme score is 20%

Your total aggregate is 16.66+20+35=71.66

Yes provided your O'Level is strong enough.

LASU uses your JAMB score and O’level result to get an aggregate score. It is this
aggregate score that will be used as final consideration for admission.

JAMB score has 50% point while your O’level result also has 50% point.

Below is the further breakdown of the O’level points

A1 ==> 10 marks.
A2/B2 ==> 9 marks.
B3 ==> 8 marks.
C4 ==> 7 marks.
C5 ==> 6 marks.
C6 ==> 5 marks.
Now let’s show you how to properly calculate the LASU aggregate score:

HOW TO CALCULATE LASU AGGREGATE SCORE

Step 1: Obtain your UTME Point, which is jamb score divide by 8

Step 2: Obtain your O’level point which is over 50%
Step 3: Obtain your aggregate score: Add up your UTME Point and O’level Point and that
will give you your aggregate.

Say you have 290 in JAMB Score and got 4As and 1 B2 in your five compulsory subjects.
Your LASU aggregate score will be;

UTME Point: 290/8 = 36.25%

O’level Point: 4As = 40, B2 = 9, total = 49%
Aggregate score: 36.25% + 49% = 85.25%
By now you should understand how to perfectly calculate your lasu aggregate score.

This is how must school that are not doing post utme calculate their aggregate.

How to Calculate UNN Aggregate Score

Its interests us to inform all UNN Candidates that their aggregate score is JAMB Score
60% while POST UTME Score happens to be 40%. Below is the guide on how to calculate
that;

UNN Students will have to multiply their JAMB Score by 0.6, Write down the answer you
get,
You will have to also multiply your POST-UTME Score by 0.4.
Now simply add up what you get in total.
E.g let’s say your jamb score is 202 and your post utme score is 307. Then we will have
(302*0.6) + (307*0.4) = Aggregate score = 304.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If your aggregate score happens to be in a decimal number (e.g
203.6) be rest assured that it will all be concluded in the whole number. With the
Aggregate score, that is what will be used in order to know if you gained admission or
not.

In order to be worthy of admission into UNN, Please make sure you have met the
departmental cut-off mark and get the necessary requirements ready.

HOW TO CALCULATE
FUTA CUTOFF MARK

FUTA Post UTME exams are objective and it comprises 25 questions of your UTME
subject combination making it 100% in total.

For you to get your FUTA aggregate score, from your JAMB SCORE, divide your score by
4 and your POST-UTME score which is a total of 25 questions multiplied by 4 to convert it
to 100%.

The aggregate score will be the addition of the two divided by 2.

Example:

Ada JAMB Score is 260 (260/4) = 65

Ada Post UTME Score is 17 (17X4) = 68

65 JAMB score + 68 Post UTME score (65+68)= 133

Divide the total score by 2 (133/2) = 66.5

Adah’s aggregate is 66.5%.

Check example 2 below.

How To Calculate FUTA Aggregate Score 2021/2022

Let’s say you scored 250 in JAMB 2021

250 Divided by 4 =62.5

You then scored 16 out of possible 25 Futa questions.

16 x 4 = 64

The aggregate is the addition of the two which is in percentage divided by 2.

62.5 + 64 = 126.5

126.5 divided by 2 = 63.25

HOW TO CALCULATE UNIUYO CUTOFF

Divide your JAMB score by 8,

Divide your Post UTME score by 2,
Add up the result.
The result you get after adding up the results is your UNIUYO aggregate score.

Here is how to calculate yours:

JAMB Score / 8 = 50%

Post UTME Score / 2 = 50%
Total = 100%.
For Example, you scored 240 in JAMB and a Post UTME score of 70. To calculate her
aggregate score, use the formula shared below.

JAMB score = 240 / 8 = 30

Post UTME score = 70 / 2 = 35
Total = 30 (JAMB) + 35 (Post UTME) = 65
From the above illustration, you get to know that your aggregate score is 65

CALCULATING UNIABUJA AGGREGATE SCORE

JAMB UTME TOTAL MARK is 400 while UNIABUJA Post UTME Score is 100.
Therefore, what you do is very simple.

Simply divide your JAMB score by 8 and then proceed further to divide your post utme
score by 2. After which you add both of them together.

This means that if you are an aspirant of the University of Abuja scores 280 in JAMB and
75 in post utme, then you can proceed to calculate your aggregate by doing the below.

280/8 = 35

75/2= 37.5

35+37.5 = 72.5…….

Therefore 72.5 becomes your aggregate score.

I hope it’s clear enough

LAUTECH
How to Calculate LAUTECH Aggregate Score
Step 1: Get your O’level Point:
A1 =6
B2 =5
B3 =4
C4 =3
C5 =2
C6 =1

Say you got parallel A in O’level at one sitting, then your O’level screening point will be
40%
Step 2: Get your JAMB point: let say your JAMB UTME score is 260. Then your jamb
point is (290/400) * 60 = 43.5%
Step 3: Calculate aggregate score: Now add your O’level and jamb point to get your
aggregate score. For our example, our aggregate score is 73.5%.
The school will release their departmental cut-off mark. What you will see there is a
minimum aggregate score required for a course.

HOW TO CALCULATE OAU AGGREGATE SCORE

Below is the OAU grading system for O’Level. You are required to have at least credits in
5 subjects relevant to your
course and its these 5 subjects that will be graded.
A1 – 2.0 points
B2 – 1.8 points
B3 – 1.6 points
C4 – 1.4 points
C5 – 1.2 points
C6 – 1.0 points

When you have your JAMB score, Post UTME score and O’level grades handy you can
follow the calculation process below.
Divide your JAMB score by 8
Add Post UTME score
Grade your O’level score and add it too
The result is your aggregate score
Assume You scores 280 in JAMB,
30 in Post UME and has the following
grades in your 5 relevant O’Level subjects.
B2 = 1.8
A1 = 2
C4 = 1.4
A1 = 2
B2 = 1.8

Your total O’level grade score would be =

1.8 + 2 + 1.4 + 2 + 1.8 = 9
Calculating
JAMB = 280 / 8 = 35
Post UME = 26
O’Level grades = 9
Total aggregate score = 35 + 26 + 9 = 70

Therefore, your aggregate score will be 70

HOW TO CALCULATE OOU AGGREGATE SCORE

For example, in order to calculate your OOU Post UTME aggregate score, the formula
purportedly adopted by the institution is the summing up of your UTME (JAMB) SCORE
divided by 8 and your POST UTME SCORE divided by Your Jamb score is allocated 50%.

Your O’level is 20% and your post-ume is 30%.

1. Considering JAMB Score: Maximum score under JAMB is 400.To prorate to 50% your
Jamb score will be divided by 8 (400/50

2. Considering O’level (WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB): O level is calculated using the 5
core subjects(core to the course you wish to study as decided by the University) as
follows:

A1 – 6 points

B2 – 5 points

B3 – 4 points

C4 – 3 points

C5 – 2 points

C6 – 1 points

And maximum is 30 points.

The total points is then proportioned to 20 through multiplication by 2/3.

3. Considering POST-UTME: Here is the score many candidates seem to find rather
confusing. Some complain of having a higher score in the POST-UTME than university
cut-off points without being admitted. But what they must understand is that even if they
score 100% in that exam it amounts only to 30% of the cut-off point.

So their Post -Utme score is usually proportioned to 30 marks using 0.3 as the multiplier
Example: If a candidate had 202 in Jamb and his O level goes Like this:

Maths-B3,

Chemistry-C4,

Biology- B2,

English- C5,

Physics-C6,

Economic-B3,

Geography-A1 and had 58% in the post utme.

Then he can calculate his composite, by following the format below: Jamb score divided
by 8 i.e 202/8=25.25

For the O level, only 5 subjects (math, english, chemistry, biology, and physics) are
needed.

There he has Math – B3 – 4 points,

English – C5 – 2 point,

Chemistry – C4 – 3 points,

Biology – B2 – 5 points,

Physics – C6 – 1 point

Total gross points for O level= 4+2+3+5+1=15.

This score is then multiplied by 2/3 i.e 15 x 2/3=10.

His post utme score is allocated 30% and is multiplied by 0.3. i.e 58 x 0.3=17.4 Therefore,
the candidates’ composite is the sum of these 3 scores i.e Jamb+O’level+post utme.

That is 25.25+10+17.4=5 2.65 Hence, the candidate’s composite is 52.65.
