SPECIAL
STITCHES/TECHNIQUES

Invisible Finish
After completing the last st, cut the yarn
and pull on the loop to draw the tail. Using
the tapestry needle, skip the next st, and
insert the needle from front to back, under
both loops. Go back to the last st, and
insert the needle through the back loop of
this st. Pull on the tail.

Surface Single Crochet

Make the slip knot on your hook (picture
1 2 3
1). Insert the hook into the crochet piece
and out through the adjacent stitch
(picture 2&3). Then pull yarn through
both holes (picture 4). You will have two
loops on your crochet hook (picture 5). 4 5 6
Insert your hook again back into same
initial surface st as in step 1, in 2 adjacent
holes (picture 6). The first surface single
crochet is done (picture 7).

The puff stitch in this pattern is made
from a group of 3 incomplete hdc in one
stitch. To make the puff stitch: yarn over
(picture 1) and insert the hook into the

Now we are going to make the hand that hold

the star. At one of the star‘s points, attach the
skin color yarn. Make 2ch. At the second loop
from the hook, make a puff stitch. Then sl st to
the same st of the star where you attached the
skin color yarn earlier. See picture 1-4 below.
You may need to pull the skin color tails tightly 6st apart
to get a nice shape of the puff stitch.

Attach the star-holding hand (the puff

stitch) on the skirt, at R6 between the arms.
Then attach the star between R7-13 of the
skirt.

ASSEMBLY OF THE ANGEL R13

Attach the body on the skirt, between R3
and R4 of the skirt. Stuff slightly with
fiberfill or no stuffing at all to prevent the
stiffness of the body when reversing the
toy.
Attach the upper part of the arms (the edge
that is narrower than the other) on the
body, between R17-18, with a tilted
position, 6st apart to each other. Then also
attach the bottom part of the arms (the
other edge that is wider) on the skirt
between R6-7, 2st apart to each other.

You can optionally add a bell inside the hair

Attach the hair on the head. The position of
the back part of the hair should be between
R12-13 of the head, and the narrowest

Embroider the eyes with dark brown yarn R12

from the side of the hair. See the pictures

Using embroidery needle, embroider the
eye brows (R7) and the eyelashes (R10) with
dark brown yarn (1 ply).
With peach yarn, embroider the rosy
cheeks between R11-12, 1st below the eyes,

Attach the wings on the back of the body,

fix the position of the wings, you may need
to sew them about 2 st wide.

Start with gold yarn. Make 36ch, then start on
the second loop from the hook, make 35sc.
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing,

the edges of bow together.

Change to green. Cut the red yarn. Work in the

FL left of R1 (you worked R2 BLO).
R2b : FLO 4inc, sc (9) Wind the yarn tail several times around the

JOINING THE ANGEL Back

AND THE BELL
Flip the angel and the christmas bell so the ugly
sides are facing you. Make a knot with the yarn
left from the magic ring. Try to leave a small
space between them.

Wrong/ugly side

BOTTOM PART OF THE BELL

Hold the bell so its top is facing you. Attach the
tan yarn at the FL left of the last round.

Flip the bell back so the good side is facing you,

but keep the angel stay with the ugly side. No
need to stuff with fiberfill. Push the angel inside
the bell. Since there is not any shared part
between them, it is optional to make the
position of both faces matched up.
Make 1ch, then work:
R20: FLO [4sc, inc, 4sc]x6 (60)
R21: [9sc, inc]x6 (66)
R22: [5sc, inc, 5sc]x6 (72)
Change to light beige.
R23: 72sl st (72)
Fasten off, leaving a tail. Weave in ends.
