STUDENT PROGRESS CHART
After you finish an exercise and check your work with your teacher, count the
number of questions you answered correctly. This is your score. Write that
number in the column marked "Your Score" in the chart below. Compare your
scores to the other scores to see how well you did (Excellent, Very Good, or
Good). If your score is the same or below the Minimum score, put a check mark
in the "Need More Practice" column. Go back and review the problems in that
exercise that you answered incorrectly. You may need more instruction or
practice in that area to make sure you've really got the hang of it!

If an unfamiliar word is in a sentence, you may be able to figure out its

meaning from the context. Context means the words and ideas around the
unfamiliar word.

The context of this sentence gives you clues about the meaning of
consensus. A committee is involved, so this is probably a meeting. A
proposal is being discussed. Committee members may not all agree on it.
Dr. Hunter hopes they will not have to vote, so consensus does not mean
voting. You can conclude that consensus means a general agreement.
