Zodiacal Degrees and Legal Profession - II

Let us therefore examine some horoscopes to see how far the results of my survey or of
Western research stand the test. Let me clarify that the horoscopes I am discussing hereunder
were not taken into account while conducting the sample survey. This has been done
deliberately to verify how far the results corroborate. Even at the time of writing this I am not
aware what would be the result of this examination. This I am doing to get as unbiased results
as are possible.
The horoscope given below is that of Dr Ambedkar. His Lagna is not known. The positions are
for Sunrise. The Sun, Mercury and Rahu in Aries in 2°, 11° and 26° respectively. Venus and
Neptune in Taurus in 17° and 15° respectively; Saturn in Virgo 2°; Ketu and the Moon in Libra
in Swati 26° and 12° respectively; Mars in Sagittarius 26° and Jupiter in Pisces 14°. His birth
date is 14-4-1892. Note the presence of Rahu in Aries and proximity of degrees given of the
planets in that sign with those given by me as well as by Wemyss. Also see the degree occupied
by Ketu and the one given by me. The almost exact opposition of Uranus and Mercury is an
indication of a very sharp mind and ability to almost instantly comprehend the subject and of
original thinking. Mars in Sagittarius in the sign of law and Saturn in his own Navamsa. The
above horoscope is as per Lahiri Ayanamsa.
The following is the Horoscope of Bal Gangadhar Tilak reproduced from Dr B V Raman’s
“Notable Horoscopes”.
Lagna – Cancer 20-23; the Sun and Venus in 9-55 and 10-24 respectively; Ketu in Virgo 28-57;
Mars in Libra 5-10; the Moon, Jupiter and Rahu in Pisces 19-15, 18-44 and 28-57 respectively
and Mercury and Saturn in Gemini in 22-32 and 16-53 respectively. Both Saturn and Mercury
are in the sensitive degrees given by me. Note the position of Rahu and Ketu and the strong
combination of planets in the 9th house. Our respected editor states in the book “The most
outstanding combination in this horoscope are: the glorified position of lord of Lagna in the 9th
with the 9th lord and affliction of this combination by Saturn and Rahu, resulting in obstruction
of the free flow of fortunate influences…..” I had deliberately picked up this horoscope as
worked out as per Raman Ayanamsa to show that the most sensitive degrees are seen repeating
despite different Ayanamsa in the Niryana system and even in the Sayana system.
The following is the horoscope of Justice Ranade. His birth date is 18-1-1842 Sunset. The
exact time is not known. At Sunset the last degree of Cancer could be rising or the initial
degree of Leo. Considering that he was a judge and as such in service both the Lagnas could fit
in well. All the planets are in the last four signs except Ketu, who is in Cancer. Many
astrologers, however prefer the royal sign Leo in Lagna. The position of planets is as follows:
The Sun Capricorn 7, with Rahu and Neptune respectively in 8 and 24; the Moon, Mercury and
Uranus are in Pisces in Ravati, 9 and 0 respectively; Jupiter, Saturn and Venus are in
Sagittarius 15,16 and 27 respectively. In this horoscope all the important signs relating to
lawyers are not tenanted. Nevertheless, Sagittarius is strongly tenanted with the sensitive
degrees very much in evidence. Cancer-Capricorn is also predominant as stated by Wemyss.
Even the degree of Neptune is also close to the one given by him.
Having seen the horoscopes of prominent people, let us see the horoscope of people who were
in the law profession and drifted there from later on and about people who are not legally
qualified but are, nevertheless, closely connected with law. The following is the horoscope of a
person who was a practicing lawyer but later on became a professional astrologer.
Lagna Aries 11°-40; Mercury – Aries 17°-28; Venus, the Sun and Uranus in Taurus 2V-41,
11°-27 and 15°-41 respectively; Saturn and Moon in Gemini 3°-40 and 26°-03 respectively;
Rahu, Mars and Jupiter in Cancer in 5°-46, 5°-4 and 26°-37 respectively and Neptune in Virgo
8°-28. Birth 26-5-1944, Bombay. Note the degree of Lagna and the presence of Mercury in
Lagna. Also see the strongly tenanted Gemini but planet not in the sensitive degrees. I have
stated earlier that Jupiter is less seen in his exaltation and our Indian astrologers say that Jupiter
in the 4th house does not help to the person to be a success in law profession. Could this be the
reason that this man ultimately went out of the profession because neither he was getting good
clients no was he very much inclined to take his profession seriously? Initially he was working
in labour law. Note lord of the sixth in Lagna and Neptune in Virgo. He then drifted to criminal
side, which did not appeal to him at all. He, however, belongs to a family of astrologers and
was well versed in that science from his childhood. During his practice he observed that clients
were willing to pay him liberally for his astrological advice rather than engage him in their
cases. Slowly he started earning better in astrological consultation than in law cases. Now he is
a full fledged astrologer and has almost given up law practice. I have seen many lawyers who
are keenly studying Astrology and history abounds with examples of lawyers who have turned
to politics. In fact all the horoscopes of eminent personalities I have presented in this paper
have turned to politics in the end. However, this is a subject in itself which demands very close
examination and is strictly out of the scope of the present paper.
Now I present the horoscope of a person who has no law qualification at all, but is a post
graduate. He is qualified in psychology and philosophy, but he is treated as an expert in law
matters and he is responsible for drafting most of the mandatory directions that an institution is
issuing under the Central Government Acts. His interpretations are respected even by the legal
advisers of the institution and he sometimes accompanies the legal adviser to argue and prepare
cases in High Courts. Incidentally I may add that he is also a superb astrologer and is known
for his excellent and at times astounding predictions.
Birth date 13-10-1935. Lagna Leo 20°-16; Venus in Leo 16°-50; Neptune in Leo 22; the Sun
Virgo 25°-42; Mercury in Libra 6°-36; Jupiter and Mars in Scorpio 1°-27 and 25 respectively;
Rahu in Sagittarius 24; Saturn in Aquarius 11°-16 and the Moon and Uranus in Aries 6°-14 and
10°-56 respectively and Pluto in Cancer 4°-16. Note strong Aries with Uranus and the Moon in
conjunction. Note Rahu-Ketu axis in Sagittarius and Gemini. Lagna and Venus are in degrees
close to the one given by me in Aquarius.
The absence of law qualification is clearly shown by the strong scorpio in the 4th house which
predisposed him to philosophy and psychology. It also explains his intense interest in occult,
including Astrology. Scorpio is the least occupied sign for lawyers, naturally he did not qualify
for the subject. But very strong Aries with Uranus exceptionally prominent made his mind very
sharp and almost original. The opposition between Uranus and Mercury is to some extent
comparable to that in Dr Ambedkar’s chart. Rahu-Ketu axis also helped him in mastering the
intricacies of law. But all these things he is doing as part of service. Note strongly positioned
Saturn in Aquarius.
