MISSION L O D O N G A P A I D H A
MEDICAL CENTER DIVINE MERCY HOUSE
From Kampala we made the long trek north to From Lodonga we drove south to Nebbi and
Lodonga, near the South Sudan border. FMO Paidha, right on the border of the Democra�c
has been suppor�ng the Catholic Lodonga Republic of the Congo. Fr. Herald was able to
Health Center for the past five years, working meet with Bishop Raphael p’Mony Wokorach,

the gi� of baby blankets and wash cloths. A�er
the program there was feas�ng with speeches
and dancing.

Missions/FMO team gave three presenta�ons
on the Eucharist to students from 6 schools:
Child Jesus Primary, Demonstra�on Primary, St.
Clare Secondary, Don Bosco Polytechnical,
Immaculate Heart of Mary Primary and
Secondary, as well as to parish catechists. Our
theme was, “Jesus Is the Bread of Life;” we

Gomez and Danny Fonseca traveled to Uganda to teach about the Eucharist, and ended with a

 SOUTH SUDAN

THE COPTIC MARTYS OF LIBYA

FMO was very pleased to provide our friends in
the Diocese of Torit, South Sudan, with a
Toyota Probox (modified by raised suspension
and tougher �res for the rough roads of the
region). It will be used by Pastoral Coordinator,
Fr. Lounoi San�no, to visit the parishes of the
diocese.
FMO was also very grateful to send significant
support for relief efforts by Aid to the Church in
Need and the Pon�fical Mission Socie�es in
Turkey and Syria. Earthquakes in early February
killed 60,000 people and affected millions
more in Turkey, and caused more damage in
one minute in Syria than 12 years of war.
On February 15, 2015, on a beach in Libya, ISIS
brutally beheaded 21 kidnapped migrant
construc�on workers (20 Egyp�an Copts and
one Ghanaian) because of their Chris�an faith
and refusal to convert to Islam. On May 11,
2023, Pope Francis received relics of these
men from the Cop�c Orthodox Pope Tawadros
II, and formally recognized their heroic deaths
by inscribing them in the Roman Martyrology.

FMO and Frassa� Missions coordinated a

Men’s Demoli�on Mission at St. Theresa
Catholic Church, Anno�o Bay, Jamaica the last
week in June. Fr. Herald and Br. Dominic and
five other demoli�on missionaries worked with
two local men over the course of three days to
raze the badly damaged rear por�on of the
convent. Our hope is to build the Blessed Pier
Giorgio Frassa� House of Mission on the site.
