His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, announced that
2024 will be the continuation of the “Year of Sustainability”, building on the success of last
year’s theme and reaffirming the nation's commitment to fostering a sustainable and
prosperous future for all.
President Sheikh Mohamed marked the 27th National Environment Day on Sunday by
declaring that the UAE's Year of Sustainability will continue throughout 2024.
The UAE leader said the decision underlined the country's efforts to “protect and preserve the
environment for the benefit of future generations”.
In 2021, the UAE unveiled its Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative, a Dh600 billion ($163.37
billion) plan to invest in clean and renewable energy sources over the next three decades.
It was the first Gulf country to commit to net-zero emissions by 2050.
The Emirates is also investing heavily in the transition to clean energy through several major
infrastructure projects.
In order to protect the planet and turn back the tide on the climate change crisis and to
achieve the target, we at PACE International School creating innovative solutions. To
continue this journey we are stepping into second year of HOPE 24

In our commitment for the net zero energy and working for climate justice we are taking actions for
a sustainable future by the following initiatives.
BE THE CHANGE - Aligned with the Year of Sustainability, the UAE- hosted COP 28, Pace
International School launches “BE THE CHANGE”
This initiative is supported by over 8000 stakeholder via a signature campaign and it integrates all 17
Sustainable Development Goals into the school ethos.
PACE aspires for sustainability to become a lifestyle, transitioning from “BE THE CHANGE” to “WE THE
CHANGE”
ADNOC STEM FOR LIFE- we are awarded as the Top School in UAE working for the innovation in Net
Zero Energy. It is a learning portal which inspires student in developing future-focused knowledge and skill
in science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Our students participated in many challenges like ADNOC Sour Gas Challenge, COP-28, UAE Challenge,
and many students have bagged certificates

Category III – Innovation and Sustainability
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Students should carry their own devices (laptop, charger & other
required accessories)
2. Students have to come up with a solution through a
model/prototype with implementation of AI concept in their
models.
3. All the project should meet sustainability goals.
4. Every team will get 10+2 minutes to explain their project,
followed by questions and answers session by judges.
5. Decision of the judging panel will be final.
