Factory Radio Removal


1. Before proceeding, eject disc(s) from factory unit if present.

2. Set parking brake and disconnect negative battery cable to prevent any
electrical short. Receiver Trimpanel

3. Starting at the bottom edge, pry around edges of receiver trimpanel to


release clips (Figures 1 & 2). Note: Clips are very tight.

4. Remove eight (8) 7mm screws securing switch panel, temperature


controls and factory radio. Allow switch panel and temperature
controls to hang (Figure 3).

5. Pull out radio, disconnect and remove.

OEM Integration
This page addresses integrating aftermarket accessories such as
R
CD Changers, Auxiliary Input Adaptors, iPod Adaptors, etc., with a
factory radio system.

1. Remove factory radio following instructions on the previous page.

2. Follow instructions supplied with the accessory device.

3. Connect optional adaptor to inputs as shown.

4. Test operation of the adaptor and reassemble dash by reversing removal steps.

Both inputs are applicable

Receiver Installation adaptor plugs into the vehicle receiver harness.
If the Crutchfield adaptor is incorrect, please call our

! IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING:


Certain warning chimes in your vehicle may
be disabled by installation of an aftermarket
receiver. You must use the recommended
Crutchfield integration adaptor to retain the
warning chimes. Failure to do so may result
in serious injury or death.

1. Secure receiver to mounting bracket


following instructions supplied with the
dash kit.

2. Make wiring connections following
instructions supplied with the receiver
wiring interface received from Crutchfield.

3. Hold receiver assembly near dash.


Connect receiver wiring interface to
vehicle harness. Using the antenna
adaptor, plug antenna lead into rear of
receiver.

4. Slide assembly into dash and secure with


screws previously removed.

5. Test operation and reassemble dash by


reversing removal steps.

No speaker adaptor bracket is available at this time for this
location. A mounting bracket must be fabricated in order to

install an aftermarket speaker.

It is possible that the replacement speakers do not have


screws supplied. It may be necessary to acquire mounting
hardware.

1. Pry out speaker/grille assembly from pillar


trimpanel to release clips and remove
(Figure 1).

2. Pry tweeter from grille and clip wires to


remove (Figure 2).

3. Fabricate a speaker mounting bracket.

4. Secure speaker/bracket to pillar. Note: It


may be necessary to acquire mounting
hardware.

5. No speaker wiring adaptor is available from
Crutchfield at this time. Make wiring
connections following instructions on page
12. Return to this page to complete
installation.

6. Reinstall speaker/grille in pillar trimpanel.

1. Pry up dash speaker grille to release


four (4) metal clips and remove grille
(Figure 1).

2. Remove two (2) 7mm screws securing
speaker. Lift speaker, disconnect wiring
harness and remove (Figure 2).

3. Connect speaker wiring adaptor of
replacement speaker to vehicle speaker
harness. Secure speaker to dash with
screws previously removed.

4. Test speaker operation and reinstall

1. Pry out “sail” panel to release metal clips and “Sail” Panel
remove (Figure 1).

2. Pry off screw cover behind door release and


remove one (1) exposed 10mm screw
(Figure 2).

3. Pry out screw cover behind door pull and
remove two (2) 10mm screws (Figures 3 & 4).

4. Pry out cover on lock knob to access release.


Pull up lock knob to remove (Figures 5 & 6).

5. Pry out sides and bottom of door panel to release clips.
Lift panel, disconnect wiring harnesses and door FIGURE 7

6. Remove one (1) 7mm screw securing speaker. Unclip


speaker, disconnect wiring harness and remove
(Figure 9).

7. Secure new speaker to adaptor bracket.

8. Make wiring connections following instructions on page Door Release Cable

4. Pry out sides and bottom of door panel to release
clips. Lift panel, disconnect wiring harnesses and door FIGURE 5
release cable to remove (Figures 5 & 6).

5. Remove one (1) 7mm screw securing speaker. Lift


speaker, disconnect wiring harness and remove
(Figure 7).

6. Secure new speaker to adaptor bracket. Make wiring


connections following instructions on page 12. Return
to this page to complete installation.

1. Pull down upper hatch door trim to


release clips and remove (Figure 1).

speaker. Pull off speaker, disconnect
and remove (Figure 4).

5. Fabricate a speaker mounting bracket.
Secure speaker to bracket.

6. Secure speaker/bracket assembly to


location and connect speaker wiring

Wire Splicing Guide These methods can be used to make wiring connections if no receiver or speaker wiring adaptor is available.

Factory harness is removed. Save New speaker wires are spliced into
