The Passive Voice

The Passive Voice is formed using the verb to be + the past participle of the main verb.

The object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence.

Tom cleaned the entire room.

The entire room was cleaned by Tom.

The passive is used Examples

Note: Present Perfect Continuous, Past Perfect Continuous, Future Continuous or the Future
Perfect Continuous are not normally used in the passive.
