OPTICAL FIBRE COMMUNICATION

In this model we show the working oI the optical Iiber with the help oI two-ampliIier
circuit. In this model we transmit the data in analogue Iorm. Firstly we convert the sound
signal into light signal. This light signal is coupled to the optical Iiber and end oI the
optical Iiber is connected to photodiode. Photodiode convert the light signal into
electrical signal and this electrical signal is now reproduced in to sound signal with the
help oI ampliIier and speaker.

In this project we use IC 741 as a ampliIier component. Pin no 7 oI the IC is connected to
the positive supply. Pin no 4 oI the IC is connected to the negative supply. Pin no 6 is
output pin. Pin no 2 and 3 is input pin.
Positive and negative voltage is supply to the IC through battery. In this project we use
9-volt dc voltage as a supply voltage. Pin no 3 is act as a reIerence voltage pin, Ior this
purpose we connect two resistance to pin no 3 via positive terminal and negative
terminal..Input signal is applied to the pin no2 via capacitor and input resistance. Input
signal is applied to the pin no2 through condenser mike. Condenser mike converts the
sound signal into

small electrical signal. This electrical signal is coupled to the pin no 2 via capacitor and
resistance. Here capacitor work as a DC blocking capacitor and pass only AC signal
Irom the mike. This input signal aIter coupling to the pin no2 is ampliIied by the IC 741
and available on the pin no 6. Here we connect a one Ieedback resistance between pin no
6 and pin2. This resistance is work as a Ieedback resistance. Feedback resistance acts as a
very important part in this ampliIier, AIter increasing the value oI this resistance we
change the level oI the sound. Now output Irom the pin no 6 is coupled to the two
transistor circuit. Here both transistor works as push pull ampliIier network circuit.
Output oI the transistor is connected to the L.E.D through one resistance. Now sound is
converted into light with the help oI this L.E.D Variations in the intensity oI the light is
as per the intensity oI the sound.

We coupled this light oI the L.E.D to the optical Iiber in proper way. We connect it in
optical Iiber, so that all the light is pass through the optical Iiber in other end.

Now optical Iiber is connected to the photodiode in proper way, so that all the light is
Irom optical Iiber is c

PROPOSED WORK
We would like to propose a working model to demonstrate a simplex optical
communication system.
In this work we would use a local laser light which is generally available in market Ior
kids. First oI all the sound signal would be converted into the light signal and then it
would be coupled to laser system accordingly. Once the laser system is coupled with the
audio signal, the light produced by it would contain the sound signal. Photo detector at
receiving end would detect the light and Iollowing sections/circuits would separate sound
signal Irom light.

TRANSMITTER
In this project we can use a IC 741 as a ampliIier component. In this we a mike which
convert the sound signal into small electrical signal. This electrical signal is coupled by
capacitor and resister. Here capacitor work as DC blocking capacitor and pass only AC
Irom mike. Now this input signal aIter coupling ampliIied by IC 741 now output oI this is
connected to Ieedback resistance. This Ieedback resistance acts as a very important part
in this ampliIier, aIter increasing the value oI this resistance we change the level oI the
sound. Now output is coupled to the two transistor circuit. Here both transistor works as
push pull ampliIier network circuit. Output oI the transistor is connected to the Laser
through one resistance. Now sound is converted into light with the help oI this Laser
Variations in the intensity oI the light is as per the intensity oI the sound.

RECEIVER
Here laser light is received by photo detector, this Photodiode is light sensitive
component. Photodiode convert this light into the small voltage. This small electrical
signal is coupled to the IC741. Here again we use one operational ampliIier as a ampliIier
circuit. Electrical signal ampliIy by the IC is available on the pin no 6. Output Irom the
IC is again ampliIy by the push-pull ampliIier circuit. Output Irom the push pull ampliIier
is now connected to the speaker via capacitor. We use capacitor Ior block the dc voltage
Irom the IC and pass only AC signal to the speaker.
