Date of Lesson Plan: When will you teach this lesson in your mentor’s classroom?
I will be teaching this lesson May 17th
Lesson Plan Project
Lesson Goals or Learning Targets (Word these as measurable student outcomes.)
- Will focus on what these students need to work on to do better.
- Will review what they did really good in the school year
- Will get them to review their cons for them to feel more prepared
Lesson Objectives or Success Criteria (Word these as student actions, use verbs.)
At the end of this lesson I want my students to feel proud of the things they have
accomplished this school year, but I also want them to really review the things they need
extra help on, the things they will need to put more work in, for the upcoming year. Maybe
convince them to practice working on these areas where they are having trouble over the
summer for them to come prepared
Lesson Plan Content (Written narrative paragraph about the lesson content.)
I will be using Kahoot for my lesson. The content my Kahoot will contain will be review of
their current school year. There will be lots of questions such as, what they did real good
on, do they feel accomplished, areas where they need to work on, strategies they need to
change, etc.. Aside from that, I will also throw some fun questions and riddles to make the
game fun
CCSS Rationale (Describe the specific Common Core State Standards addressed during the teaching
of this lesson plan.)
The following Common Core State Standards down below have a place in my lesson plan due to their
criteria and how it falls into the reviewing part of my lesson
- Common Core State Standards for English Language
Arts, Adopted August 2010(PDF; 2MB) (Modified March
2013 Publication Version)
-
- Word Version of Common Core State Standards for
English Language Arts(DOC; 3MB)
Instructional Procedures
· Focusing Event (Describe how you will get students to focus attention on your teaching.)
- I will get students to focus on my teaching by making my lesson a fun activity
· Instructional Strategies (Click into that link for help describing all instructional methods you will
employ during the lesson. Remember, instructional strategies fall into one or more of the
following broad categories: DIRECT, INDIRECT, EXPERIENTIAL, INTERACTIVE,
INDEPENDENT STUDY)
- The instructional methods I will employ during my lesson would be direct and
interactive. Why? This lesson is directed directly to each and everyone of the
students but is an interactive activity at the same time
· Student Participation (How will you engage students and get them on board to participate?)
- This will be an online activity, these students rarely get to use the laptops in that
class, so it works out perfectly because they get excited to be able to use them
· Formative Check (How will you check that all students are involved and engaged in the lesson?
- I will be able to monitor the game and keep up with everyone
· Closure (How will you end the lesson purposefully, with intentionality?)
- I will be ending my lesson by giving out advice from personal experience, talk
about what they need to worry about and keep in mind as they are growing fast.
What they should look forward to, and wish them the best!!!
· Assessment (How will you assess that students achieved the lesson goals or learning targets?)
- This will help them on the long run so they will be able to see the outcome later on if
they learned or got advice from this.
Lesson Plan Materials (Include everything needed to successfully complete the lesson with
the full class. Remember to include all supplies, as well as technology, whiteboard space,
classroom space, etc.)
- Laptops is the only thing they need
Mentor Signature & Date (Verification you taught this lesson with their class)
