OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE
Equipment Type Mower (Grass Cutter)
Equipment Code STIHL-M-16-02-01
Location Equipment room
Safety Precaution Follow operational procedure
Time Allotment 1 hour
Operation Procedure:
MOWER (GRASS CUTTER)
a. Wear PPE when operating with mower (grass cutter).
b. Inspect mower to be sure that there are no leaking fluids, such as gas or
oil, and that the spark plug is properly inserted and has no signs of
damage or corrosion. Also, check your fuel level and refill if necessary.
c. Prime your engine. When you prime the engine, you are squirting small
amounts of fuel into the carburetor to ensure that you get the proper
combustion reaction that is necessary to run the mower.
d. Pull your ripcord. When you do this, it spins the blades and, if working
properly and spun fast enough, causes a spark from your spark plug,
which ignites the fuel in your carburetor. As a side note, most mowers
have a safety bar or lever that can be held down against the push bar on
your mower. This safety bar must be held down while pulling the cord and
during operation. If you let go, it will shut off and won’t start unless held
down again.
e. During operation; never walk away from a running mower. When mowing
a slope, it is best to mow side to side, as opposed to up and down the
slope because if you or the mower were to slip while mowing up and
down, there is a great risk of personal injury.

WASTE SEGREGATION PLAN
Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 or Republic Act 9003
provides a systematic, comprehensive, and ecological solid waste
management program in the country. It was enacted in 2000 and its
enforcement is 2003
It is hereby declared the policy of the State to adopt a systematic,
comprehensive and ecological solid waste management program which shall:
a. Ensure the protection of public health and environment;
b. Ensure the proper segregation, collection, transport, storage, treatment
and disposal of solid waste through the formulation and adoption of
the best environmental practices in ecological waste management
excluding incineration;
c. Strengthen the integration of ecological solid waste management and
resource conservation and recovery topics into the academic curricula
of formal and non-formal education in order to promote environmental
awareness and action among the citizenry.
Waste (also known as rubbish, trash, refuse, garbage, junk, litter, and
ort) is unwanted or useless materials. In biology, waste is any of the many
unwanted substances or toxins that are expelled from living organisms,
metabolic waste; such as urea and sweat.
Agricultural waste shall refer to waste generated from planting or
harvesting of crops, trimming or pruning of plants and wastes or run-off
materials from farms or fields. Some examples of agricultural waste are:
• empty pesticide containers;
• old silage wrap;
• out of date medicines and dewormers;
• used tires;
• surplus milk
Segregation shall refer to a solid waste management practice of
separating different materials found in solid waste in order to promote
recycling, reducing and reusing of resources and to reduce the volume of
waste for collection and disposal.
Reducing the amount of waste you produce is the best way to help the
environment. For instance buying products with minimum packaging,
borrowing things which we do not use often, starting a compost bin, saving
energy and water by turning are ways to reduce.
To reduce waste composting is one example; compost material will be
collected every day by the maintenance officer or the assigned garbage
collector and sorted it before bringing it to the compost fit area to be
decomposed.
Instead of throwing away articles try to find various efficient ways to
reuse it. For instance, replacing few things in our day to day life like using
cloth sacks in place of plastic bags, re-useable lunch bags without creating
waste. Donating old clothes, toys and furniture to the needy and poor. Use
writing paper on both sides etc.
Recycling is the process of changing the waste and non-useable
materials into potentially useful materials. Recycling reduces the
consumption of raw materials and energy usage. It also reduces air and
water pollution by reducing the need of conventional waste disposal.
Recyclable materials will be pick-up once a week and sorted it out to re-use
for another purposes before bringing it to the garbage disposal area for pick-
up of the collectors. Usage of recycled materials will help the environment to
be green again.
Disposal shall refer to the discharge, deposit, dumping, spilling,
leaking or placing of any solid waste into or in a land. Disposable material
will be picking up by the city truck of Calapan every Thursday of the week at
6 o’clock in the morning and dispose it in the dump site.
