418445 - Error message KD302 seems unjustified - splitting by [Link]

Component: CO-OM-ACT-F (Controlling > Overhead Cost Controlling > Activity Types > Period-end Closing),
Version: 1, Released On: 16.07.2001

Symptom
In Transaktion KSS2 (Actual) oder KSS4 (Planned) you splitthe activity-independently posted
costs of a cost center to the existing activity types associated with this cost center. Then
the system outputs error message to KD302 'Cost center &, cost element &: Splitting is not
possible'. The error message seems to be unjustified, since for the cost center/ activity
types combination mentioned in the error message, a price is planned in Transaction KP26/
KP27.

Other Terms
KD302, equivalence number, magic number

Reason and Prerequisites

It must be a splitting by equivalence numbers.

Solution
For the cost center an activity with the following planning record was planned:
Planned activ. Capacity Price Equivalence number
xx,xx 1

This combination, a so-called (0,0,1) combination, is not used by the system for the
splitting because it is identical with an initial planning record. In this case it is not
important whether a value was entered for the price or not. The splitting only checks the
fields Plan activity, Capacity and Equivalence number. Since only actual planned activity
types should be used for the splitting, this (0,0,1) combination is not considered. In order
to initiate the splitting for this activity type, only one of the three relevant values must
be changed. Generally, the simplest way is to plan a value for the capacity.
