Imagine living in a country where:

70% of a family income is spent on food. Food inflation is 15% per year. 87 children in 1000 die before they are 5 (in the UK it is 5). 50% of the population cannot depend on a consistent supply of food. Drinking water is contaminated and not always available. Electricity and fuel are rationed to certain times or days.

Why

Please contact us for more information.

The Romans invented aqueducts to bring water to their cities. Similarly, the charity Aqueduct brings refreshing resources from places where they are plentiful to places where they are scarce. Whilst we help with water, we help in many other ways too....

Adult literacy
99% of the residents of the communities where we work cannot read or write. So we have set up adult literacy classes; especially for women.
Teaching girls to sew

Primary Schools
Boys as young as 8 years are sent to work, so we only have a short time in which to teach them. The community provides the place for the school to meet, and we provide the teachers and the books.

Teacher training
We want our children to have the best education possible, so we train the teachers regularly. We encourage them to break way from traditional teaching methods and capture the imaginations of their students.

Why not organise a sponsored event, perhaps with the aid of Trailblazers www.rockuk.org. Get hands on experience and come and see the projects for yourself.

businesses.

Expanding businesses
It is very difficult for carpenters, electrical repair men and other people trying to run small businesses to find the money to expand. We provide a loan and the support required to ensure that their business ventures are successful. The loan is then repaid and lent to another business.
