General Rules
1. Participation: All Grade 12 students are required to participate in the Dance
Showdown, under the PE 3 subject of Mr. Sumaylo and Ms. Arcamo.
2. Groups: Half of the students in each section will join to the half students in other
sections.
3. Costume and Props: Costumes and Props should be appropriate for the overall theme
and each dance genre.
4. Music: Groups must provide their own music for their performance.
5. Time Limit: Each performance is limited to 8-10 minutes including the preparation
(entry and exit).
6. Practice Schedule: All groups must practice daily from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM only in school
grounds with the presence and approval of the PE3 subject teacher. For practices outside the
campus, a letter of request and approval must be submitted, detailing the time, location, and
participants. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in points being deducted from
the group. Additionally, each member must have parental consent for all off-campus
practices.
7. The committee reserves the right to amend these guidelines or refuse any entry on any
grounds with proper advice to the parties concerned.
8. All music must be submitted to the technical committee ahead of time to avoid delays
during the competition.
9. All competitors will be assigned numbers for the competition through drawing of lots.
10. The following are strictly not allowed in the performance:
Performance of dangerous choreography/routine
Use of live animals
Use of real fighting armor (e.g. sword, knife, guns, arrow, spears, etc.
Use of any form of liquid (e.g. blood, oil, water, etc.)
Use of fire, candles and any pyrotechnic materials.
Use of confetti either drop or bomb.
Breaking of glass, pots, etc.
Audio visual presentation or screen projection
Hand props may be used (e.g. stick, fan, ring, umbrella, etc.). Bamboo, wood, steel or
plastic pole may be used but must not be more than 3 meters long.
Failure to comply with any of the foregoing guidelines will result to disqualification.
The judges’ decision is final and unappeasable.
Performance Requirements
Transition: Groups must seamlessly transition between the three dances genres (hip-hop,
contemporary, and festival) within their performance.
Theme: The performance should have a unifying theme or story that connects the
different dance styles.
Creativity: Groups should showcase their creativity in choreography, costume design,
and overall presentation.
Judging Criteria
Technique:
(Skill and execution of dance moves in each genre.) - 25%
Creativity:
(Originality and innovation in the overall performance and transitions.) - 25%
Synchronization:
(Coordination and teamwork among group members.) - 20%
Costume:
(Appropriateness and relevance to the overall theme and each dance genre.) - 10%
Overall Performance:
(Discipline, Stage presence, energy, and audience engagement.) - 10%

Additional Rules
Safety: All participants must adhere to safety guidelines and avoid dangerous stunts.
Sportsmanship: Participants must exhibit good sportsmanship and respect for other
groups.
Cheating: Any form of cheating or unfair practices will result in disqualification.
