REPORT SUMMARY
I. OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTIVITY:
The conduct of the LCPC Functionality Assessment aimed to ensure that LCPCs are functioning according
to their legal mandates under various national laws and are responsive to the needs of children in their
jurisdiction. By assessing the LCPCs, LGUs can determine the strengths and gaps in existing child protection
mechanisms, improving accountability and ensuring that these bodies fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
II. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY:
The highlights of the activity are the following:
1. Asst PSWDO Brenda Aurora Basada gave the rationale for the conduct of the activity;
2. DILG LCPC Focal Person Erlinda Gajol introduced the members of the Provincial IMTF to the group
and presented the indicators for the LCPC Functionality Assessment;
3. Actual conduct of the assessment; presentation of MOVs to the PIMTF members;
4. Feedbacking by each member of the PIMTF;
5. Delivery on the result of the assessment.

III. OUTPUT/S OF THE ACTIVITY:
1. Appreciation of the CMSWDOs on the importance of the LCPC Functionality Assessment
2. Consolidated result of the CY 2023 LCPC Functionality Assessment.
IV. RECOMMENDATIONS/RELEVANT APPLICATION IN DILG (if any):
1. Orientation for the members of the city/municipal IMTF should be done by the C/MSWDO or the
C/MLGOO;
2. LGUs should establish an effective monitoring and evaluation of PPAs related to children;
3. Proper guidance and intervention should be done to LGUs to equipped them with proper
implementation of children’s PPAs.
4. LCPC Fund utilization should be monitored regularly.

V. REQUESTED ACTIONS (if any):
The following are the necessary actions to be undertaken:
1. Intensify all efforts of all concerned to monitor the functionality of LCPCs of component LGUs;
2. DILG should allocate funds to conduct capdev interventions to LGUs.
