Instructions for Training Security
This section of this guide is similar to our Flight Hosting Handbook. Please note that
instructions are in this blue color, while copy and paste training instructions are in this
black color.
Open the door to your room, you can do this by typing the following directly into chat:
/security
Once the trainee sits down, you will type the following:
Welcome to Security Training! I’m {name}, and I’ll be your Trainer for today.
Before we start, I’d like to quickly remind you that Permission to Speak (PTS) is currently
active, if you have a question say “PTS”.
Let us start by discussing admin abuse. Then we’ll move onto what a Security staff
member does.
Admin abuse is when someone intentionally or unintentionally uses their admin in a way
which negatively impacts others.
We have an Admin Policy which goes into more detail about this. But in summary, you
shouldn’t use commands to ruin the experience for others.
If someone does this, you should run the logs command, and report this to a moderator
in our communications server. This can be done by creating a ticket.

Admin abuse will get you demoted, so do not use commands in a bad way.
Understood?
Now let’s talk about the Security role.
When a customer walks up to the security scanner, you should say “Halt”.
Wait for 5 seconds, then let the player through.
You should say something like; “Have a nice flight! You’re free to go”.
This is an example of a goodbye message, as required in the practical exam.
When roleplaying as a Security Officer, you will follow these steps at the scanner.
/security
We will demonstrate an example of this in the other room, please follow me and stand on
the yellow lines.
Alrighty, I’m going to show you guys how a typical interaction should go.
You should give a demonstration with one of your Supervisors. If there is no Supervisor
you can always ask the host.

The demonstration will just be a passenger walking towards the gate, it will be a typical
Security interaction; The Trainer will be the Security Officer while the Passenger will be
the Supervisor.
It’s time for the practical exam!
Your supervisors should be able to help with testing them. So you should have a line for
each supervisor + yourself. If you have 2 supervisors, you’d have 3 exam lines. You can
have a maximum of four lines.
Supervisors please line up at each Security Scanner.
Each one of you will take a turn in a test scenario, this is to test your greeting and how
you perform. You will then be asked a question.
{number of lines} of you please stand behind the security scanner and wait for the
Supervisor to walk up to the Security Scanner.
Ex. “Four of you please stand……”
Those who are left, should stay on the yellow line and wait.
The exam is simply the scenario from before, but you must follow exactly what is written.
The Supervisor/Trainer shall be the passenger.
The Practical Exam can be found below.

The purpose of this practical exam is to see each trainee using their goodbye message
and to see them using grammar during passenger interactions.
If they fail to meet any of the expectations then you should kick them for failing the
practical exam. Example: kick {user} Sorry, you failed the Practical Exam. You’re always
welcome to try again.
The Exam Question can be found on the next page.
The exam question are listed below. Send the first question to all trainees via PMs.
Trainees have 2 minutes to respond. Any trainee that takes too long or answers
incorrectly should be kicked from the training with an appropriate reason such as
“Sorry, the answer to question 1 was incorrect. You’re always welcome to try again”.
Example: kick {user} Sorry, the answer to question 1 was incorrect. You’re always welcome to try
again.
Send each subsequent question in a new private message only to those who have
answered the previous question correctly. Example: pm {user} This is a Question?
Do not copy anything after “Answer”:
Question 1:
What would you do if someone abuses their admin?
Answer:
- Full Marks: Mentions issuing a warning, and/or mentions a modcall (calling a
moderator)
- No Marks: Fails to mention either issuing a warning or getting a moderator to help
