Recognizing and conforming as authentic the list of 70 Barangays in Legazpi
City as submitted by the City Development Officer.

LEGAL BASIS OF EXISTENCE

Pursuant to Presidential Letter of Instruction No. 1175, the


Ministry of Local Governments has issues a Memorandum, dated
January 12, 1982, informing all concerned that there is a
nationwide integrated listings of barangays, the result of which
shall be considered official for all purposes.

FIESTAS

Barangay 58-Buraguis is a vibrant community that


takes pride in its rich cultural heritage by celebrating various
CULTURE/ fiestas throughout the year. One of the most anticipated
STORIES festivals is the Guimata Festival, which takes place every
Barangay 58, first week of December. After the Guimata Festival, the
community comes together to honor the feast days of Saint
Buraguis Lucia on December 13 and Our Lady of Guadalupe on
December 12 through various festivities such as street
Legazpi City parades, cultural activities, and sports events. Another fiesta
ASSETS that is highly celebrated in Barangay 58-Buraguis is the San
Lorenzo Ruiz Fiesta, which takes place every September 28.
This festival is a colorful and joyful celebration of the life
and martyrdom of San Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint.
The fiesta is marked by processions, cultural performances,
and a variety of local delicacies. In addition to these
festivities, the community also celebrates the feast day of
Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11. This feast day is a
solemn occasion that is marked by religious processions,
masses, and other devotional activities that pay tribute to the
miraculous apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in
Lourdes, France. Overall, Barangay 58-Buraguis is a
community that is deeply rooted in its traditions and cultural
heritage, and its vibrant fiestas are a testament to its strong
and enduring spirit.
Barangay 58-Buraguis is a thriving and dynamic community,
situated on a sprawling area of approximately 34.75 hectares. The vast
majority of the area is primarily dedicated to residential zones,
providing a comfortable and secure living environment for its
residents. About 5% of the land is used for agricultural purposes, with
the locals engaging in diverse farming activities such as vegetable
farming, poultry farming, and livestock production. The barangay is
blessed with an abundance of natural beauty, with its lush greenery,
rolling hills, and picturesque landscapes that are truly breathtaking.
The fresh air, serene environment, and scenic views make it an ideal
place to relax and unwind. The residents of Barangay 58-Buraguis are
involved in various livelihood activities, including small businesses,
retail shops, and service-oriented jobs such as teaching, health care
services, and public administration. The community boasts a vibrant
and robust economy, and its residents are proud of their rich cultural
heritage and strong sense of community.
