IMPORTANT
With a view to bring about greater reliability, validity and objectivity in
the examination system and also for closer integration of teaching,
learning and evaluation.
(i) The syllabus has been divided into units. Questions will be set from
each unit with provision for internal choice.
(ii) In order to ensure that the students do not leave out the important
portion of the syllabus, examiners shall be free to repeat the
questions set in the previous examinations.
[Ref. Resolution No. 21 (c) of Academic Council dated 9-2-84]
The examines be permitted to use their personal transistorised pocket
battery operated calculators in the examinations. The calculator to be
used by the candidates in the examinations should not have more than
12 digits, 6 functions and 2 memories and should be noiseless and
cordless. A calculator belonging to one candidate shall not be allowed
to be used by another candidate. The Superintendent of the centre will
have complete discretion to disallow the use of a calculator which does
not confirm to the above specification.

In Engineering and any other examinations where the use of calculators
is already permitted, it shall remain undisturbed.
NOTIFICATION
In compliance of decision of the Hon'ble High Court all
students are required to fulfil 75% attendance rule in each
subject and there must be 75% attendance of the student
before he/she could be permitted to appear in the
examination.

General Information for Students
The course of study for the examination shall extend over a period of
three years as an integrated course.
The examination shall be conducted by means of written papers and
practical, wherever prescribed.
Note : It is compulsory for the students to pass General Hindi or General
English and Environmental Studies & Elementary Computer
Application paper. If they are unable to pass any of these papers at First
Year Level they have the choice to appear at Second Year or Third Year
Level and clear the examination. Without clearing compulsory papers
candidate will not be awarded degree.

(i) *In the Institute of Evening Studies the no. of periods of theory
papers will be six in all the subjects.
(ii) The minimum pass percentage in each subjects will be 36% (Both in
Theory and Practical separately)
(iii) The marks of Maths. Paper I and II will be reduced to 65 and Paper
III will be of 70 marks.
(iv) The marks of Statistics practical paper will be reduced to 50.
ELECTIVE ENGLISH
There shall be two papers each of three hours duration, each carrying
100 marks.

Note: The Hindustani system of Music shall be followed. Candidates
must pass separately in both theory' and practical examinations.
Those who offer an instrument namely Violin, Dilruba, Israj, may, if
they can, play composition of Vocal Music instead of Gats Todas on
their instruments.
Each theory paper will have ten questions, two from each of the
five units. Candidates shall be expected to answer one question from
each unit
Occasional demonstration will be' held to encourage and
promote performing talent of students and further to strengthen them
for practical examination. They have to actively participate in at least
two out of three demonstrations.

TECHNICAL TERMS AND DEFINITION

Note: Life Model sit before the candidate for four hours with a rest of
10 minutes when required to the model. First session of four

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION
Submission Work will be submitted to the Head of the Department of
Fine Arts and Painting of Jai Narain Vyas University, Fifteen days
before the commencement of Examination. The marks in the submission

will be awarded by the subject teacher (internal). However the external
examiner shall be empowered to review the work of the submission
incase there is a drastic difference between the marks of the examination
and submission. Submission Workwi1l be retained till the declaration of
the result and returned to the candidates from the Department thereafter.
If no claim is made within two months of the declaration of the result,
the submission wi1l be destroyed.

principle steps in sample surveys, sampling and non sampling
errors.

Unit 3 : Ratio and regression methods of estimation, estimation of
population mean and total in large sample size. Comparison with
simple estimator.
