Mechatronics engineering

I’ve always been a firm believer of hard work and that it beats talent. As a matter of fact, the
word talent is just a roundabout way of denying someone’s hard work and consistency,an excuse
for people to give up because they’re just not as ‘talented’, though of course that’s not always
the case. It blows my mind to see someone build something from scratch, it’s pure hard work and
patience, which is what first attracted me to mechatronics engineering. From simple
mathematical equations to programming and designing, mechatronics involves solving a series of
challenges that excite me.

What made me choose mechatronics engineering is how it takes part in everyday life, and how it
has helped make life easier. I’ve always wanted to contribute to my community and choosing the
right field played a huge part. I’ve already started learning about programming languages such
as python, it isn’t as hard as I expected it to be since I’ve already learned simple coding in 11th
grade, and I plan to learn more about it from now on.

War in my home country taught me many lessons. I learned that material possessions don’t last.
The only thing you truly own is your knowledge and skill, how the only thing you can take after
being robbed of your precious home, cars, money, and everything in between is your brain and
knowledge, realizing how knowledge can help build a new life made me serious and picky about
my future profession, even if it was really hard I’m planning to take the journey, accept the
hurdles and enjoy every single part of it!

I’ve tried all types of activities and loved them all, from football, basketball, boxing, to table
tennis, billiards, card games and even chess. Though if I’m honest I’ve never been exceptionally
good at any of those, I do it for fun, to socialize and get to know new people. One thing I’ve
actually been exceptionally good at is art, people always told me I’m talented, and asked if I
could give them tips on how to be as good, but what they don’t know is that I’ve been doing art
for 10 years consistently and that made me firmly believe that practice makes perfect.

I’m honestly really excited for uni life, one thing I’m convinced about is wherever I end up I want
to be the best at my field, being competitive adds fun to the journey. Mechatronics engineering is
the best field for a little bit of creativity and competition which has me feeling ecstatic.

All in all, I’m really looking forward to studying mechatronics engineering and I’m positive that
what I have from determination to creativity will help me be among the top in my field.
