Evacuation

By Indigo
The floods in Thailand are a big problem for many people, they have to go to evacuation centers and some of them have to move belongings upstairs or to higher ground. Zoos have evacuated the animals to higher grounds or freed them.

Cars

In Thailand people are parking their cars on highways and elevated freeways, so that the flood water doesnt ruin them. People who rent cars also park them on the freeways and highways, so the rental places get less income since there are fewer cars to rent. Since the highways and freeways are packed with cars, people who are driving through have a hard time since its like a traffic jam. But at the moment the freeways and highways are the safest places for the vehicles.

People Evacuating
People who evacuate houses take a few things with them or move them to higher ground if they can. They also bring their pets to evacuation centers or leave them on higher ground to be found and rescued. People evacuate to centers around Thailand. There are 60,965 people in evacuation centers and there are 1,744 evacuation centers, the government says that the evacuation centers can hold an astonishing 1,820,081,837 people. Therefore there is space left for 1,820,020,872 people, each center must have the capacity to

house 1,043,625 people! The PIG association is helping give people food. People who want to go home have to pay 1,000 baht per person to get back!

Zoos Evacuating
Zoos have evacuated their animals. They have moved them on to hills, mountains, etc. But some zoos like Safari World have freed birds and left the rest to suffer and take care of themselves. Since theyre zoo animals (and most of them cant fly or swim) they rely on the zookeepers to feed them and care for them which causes a big problem. Other animals such as chickens and other farm animals drown since they cant swim.
