We are in need of some service to our Lodge to make it more functional,
inviting and comfortable.
Our carpet is in need of replacing-even a good cleaning would be good for
starters
An overall good thorough cleaning is needed throughout the Lodge
Even a new paint job would be nice

Please contribute what you can to our Building Maintenance Fund. If you
cannot send a cash donation maybe you can contribute a needed item, service
or some of your time.

First impressions speak wonders when visitors come into our Lodge. For this
reason we need to stay on top of its maintenance and cleaning.

These facilities are available to all our members and others for functions and
events.

Let's keep up the pride in our Lodge, by keeping up with its upkeep.

Please mail your monetary contribution to the Lodge stating that it is for the
Building Maintenance Fund or call to make arrangements for donations of items
or for volunteering to help with cleaning or other desired involvement.

Every little bit of help would be very much appreciated.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:

We are considering closing in the dining area to make it more of a smoke free
environment for those of you who are non smokers. The majority of members
that come into our Lodge on a regular basis are smokers. To make the Lodge
totally smoke free, would very possibly be detrimental to our Lodge at this
time. So we are trying to come up with a viable compromise.

The wall would also create a better atmosphere for families and children by
separating the dining room from the bar area.

To accomplish this we would need supplies to build the proposed wall and to
modify our exhaust system.

Your input on this matter would be very much appreciated. Please call Brenda
Sreca @ 208-316-4770 with your thoughts or suggestions.

To send in donations for this project, please address your contribution to:
Snake River Elks #2807, Attn: Brenda Sreca/Dining Wall Fund.

goes out to Madeline Aardema of O'Leary Middle School. Madeline has won the Idaho State Hoop Shoot competition that was held
at Minico High School in Rupert on February 11, 2012. She will now go on to the regional competition on March 2
nd
& 3
rd
. in
Portland, Oregon.

From there winners continue on to the national finals in Springfield, MA on April 26-29, 2012. The names of the national winners are
engraved on plaques at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Snake River ELKS are very proud of you Madeline and wish you the very best.

This program is totally sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the U.S.A. It is endorsed by hundreds of school
systems around the country. The Hoop Shoot is funded by the Elks National Foundation and the support of local Lodges and state
associations. Travel and lodging expenses for the contestants and their parents are paid for by the Elks.

Our state major project is the Elk's Rehab
System. You can support this project by
pledging $100 (C-Note). This is payable in full
or in installments of as little as $10 per year.
The C-Note monies go into a permanent fund
and the income is given to the Hospital to help
pay for care for low income patients.

You can also help by donating cash or food to
the annual Food Caravan which has been
rescheduled to September of 2012.

Celebrity Bartender
Have you ever wanted to bartend?

Well here is your chance! The Snake River Elks is trying out
Celebrity Bartending to give patrons a chance to learn how to
bartend and or to show off their skills to their friends and family.

This is always a fun experience for everyone because you get to invite everyone you know to
your favorite place and serve great drinks. So call, text, "Tweet", "Update your Status" and
email everyone you know and invite them out!!!

There is No-Experience Necessary. All those who want to sign-up must be approved. To sign-
up, contact:
Marvin Lamm - (208) 421-6348 or
Brenda Sreca - (208) 316-4770

Each celebrity bartender will receive a $10 drink certificate, which is not redeemable for
cash.

The C.B. is not allowed to give away liquor or give discounted liquor to friends, family or
anyone.

If anyone knows of any functions,
charities or community events that
you would like to see us become a part
of or to put in the newsletter, please
let us know.

Also, if there is an event that you
would like to see us put on at the
Lodge, we are always open to ideas.

Please contact the Lodge or Brenda
Sreca at 208-316-4770, or any of the
Trustees or Officers.
PARTICIPATION IS THE KEY TO
ELKDOM

The Benevolent
and Protective
Order of Elks
of the USA has
joined forces with Donate Life
America to increase donations of
organs, eyes and life-saving tissue.
The need is paramount.

More than 110,000 patients were
waiting for organ transplants as of
March 2011, according to the Donate
life America Web site,
www.donatelife.net.

Only 28,663 organ transplants had
been performed in 2010, and even
fewer - 14,502 - organ donations had
been made in that year.

We Elks Members can help close the
gap! The effort of Lodges to promote
the program through their Bulletins
and Web site can gain them five
points in their quests to be named an
All American Lodge. More incentives
will be announced in coming years as
the program takes shape throughout
Elkdom.

For more information on the
importance of donation and how to
become a registered donor in your
state, go to the Donate LifeSM web-
site, or by logging onto
www.donatelife.net. This is a great
way to show that "Elks Give from the
Heart."

In February we held elections of Officers. I decided to give it one more year as Exalted Ruler.
So far all chairs except Lecturing Knight have been filled.

Our current Secretary, Maria Yurkevicius has decided to not seek re-election. I for one will
miss her greatly. She has been so much help to me as Exalted Ruler. Her many years of faithful
service is much appreciated. I am sure Brenda Sreca will do you a great job - as well as the
other men and women who stepped forward to fill the chairs.

Thanks to Marvin Chamberlin, Dean Carnell and Gail Quinn who have filled Chairs the past
year.

This past year has taught me many things. I'm looking forward to the next year. I truly feel that
most of the serious problems at the Lodge have been put to bed and that the light at the end
of the tunnel is getting brighter. Again, Thanks to all the members who supported me last year
and hope for your continued support this coming year.

From the Secretary's Desk
Members All,

As of this month dues notices have been sent out to all members. Dues are due April 1st.
Members who have not paid their dues can still pay them and be current. You have been sent
your notices and if you do not pay, you will be dropped from rolls on March 18th.

As of April 1st I will no longer be Secretary of the Lodge. Brenda Sreca will be taking over my
job. I have enjoyed doing the job but it is time to give it up. I have been at it too long.
Someone younger than me needs to take over.

I have enjoyed all the years I spent working with Bill before he passed away and also after
when I joined the Lodge and became Secretary. I will stay on as a member. Thank you ever so
much for putting up with me all these years.
Fraternally yours, Maria H. Yurkevicius - Secretary
