BRIGHT DAISIES CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE

FORM 1 COMBINED SCIENCE SCHEME

SECOND TERM
2025

Mr. Kavara
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The scheme should enable the learners to:

• develop desirable scientific literacy

• acquire critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills that apply to real life situations
• gain scientific practical skills, accuracy, objectivity, integrity, enquiry and team work
• develop attitudes relevant to science such as self-initiative, self-managing and enterprising
• relate scientific practices to sustainable use of natural resource
• use science to extract value from our natural resources
• participate in the technological development of Zimbabwe and the global world

Objectives

The learners should be able to:

• apply scientific principles in solving everyday problems and in understanding new situations
• conduct experiments, record results, describe observations and draw conclusions
• demonstrate an understanding of scientific terms, laws, facts, concepts, theories and phenomena
• exhibit knowledge and understanding in relation to scientific and technological applications with their social, economic and environmental implications
• show relevant attitudes to science such as accuracy and precision, objectivity, integrity, enquiry initiative and inventiveness
• portray knowledge and understanding of scientific instruments and apparatus including techniques of operations and aspects of safety
• use different forms of data presentation to give rational explanations of scientific phenomena
• draw scientific diagrams in two dimensions
• relate scientific principles, formulae and methods to solving qualitative and quantitative problems
• apply scientific principles, methods and techniques in value addition and beneficiation of our natural resources
• use appropriate methods of recycling and/or disposing wastes.
