I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Demonstrate an understanding of the different types
of mixtures and their characteristic.
B. Performance Standard Prepare beneficial and useful mixtures such as drinks,
food, and herbal medicines.
C. Most Essential Learning Describe the appearance and uses of homogeneous
Competencies (MELC) and heterogeneous mixtures.
(if available write the indicated MELC) (S6MT-Ia-c1)
D. Enabling Competencies
(if available write the attached Describe the characteristic of uniform mixture
enabling competencies)

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction Activity A.
Draw some objects that you can see in your
surrounding right now put them in the proper box.

SOLID
LIQUID

GAS
Activity B
(FACT or BLUFF)
Directions: Write the word FACT if the statement is
correct and BLUFF if it is not.
________1. When solid materials are mixed with
other solids, each of the combined materials can be
easily identified like when peanuts and popcorn will be
mixed.
_________2. Solid materials can be mixed/ combined
with liquid materials. Some solid materials completely
dissolved in the liquid materials, if we combine salt
with water and stir thoroughly the salt will completely
dissolve.
_________3. When powdered milk and white sugar
combined, the two solid materials cannot be
distinguished from each other.
__________4. Some solid materials settled at the
bottom of the container. If water and gravel were
combined the gravel will just settled at the bottom.

What are the materials used in constructing houses
and buildings based on the video?

Need to Know
1. When solid material is mixed with other solid
material each of the combined materials can be
easily identified/ distinguished from one
another.
2. Some solid materials, when mixed with other
solids cannot be distinguished from each other.
3. The properties of each solid material in the
mixture did not change. The size, shape color
of each solid material remains the same even
after mixing.
4. Solid materials can be mixed/ combined with
liquid materials. Some solid materials
completely dissolve in the liquid. Some solid
materials settled at the bottom of the container,
while others stay within the liquid.
5. Some solid materials spread out evenly in the
liquid materials but some do not. When mix
with the liquid some solid materials change
their size, color, shape but some do.
6. Homogeneous mixture or uniform mixture is a
mixture where the components that make up
the mixture are uniformly distributed throughout
the mixture. The composition of the mixture is
the same throughout.
Day 2. Activity B.
MIXING SOLID WITH OTHER SOLIDS Procedure: 1.
Prepare 1 tablespoon of each material listed on the
table. 2. Mix the following pair of materials in the table
listed. 3. After mixing, observe what happens and
record your observation on the table. Note: Number 1
has been done for you. TABLE 1_ Mixing solids with
