Insight Conversation 3 - Experiences on a trip (teacher’s Guide)

• To warm up ask the students: ask some questions about vacations.!
Have you ever been abroad?!
Where have you been?!
Are you planning on going anywhere for your next vacation? If so, where?!
Are you afraid of going abroad alone?!
Could you live in another country for the rest of your life?!
Describe the most interesting person you met on one of your travels.!
Did your class in high school / college go on a trip together? If so, where did you go? How long did you stay?
How did you get there?!
• Hand the students the worksheet and they are going to ask the questions to each other.!
• Say: Listen to the conversations. All the people had good vacations, but they also had some problems.
Ask them to write the place they travelled and the problem they had there. They can listen twice or
three times to complete the chart.!

dream vacation.” Say as much as you can. Elicit them to talk. Make extra questions. !
• Ask students to describe a scary, relaxing, short or scenic trip they took. Make extra questions.!

1. It was scary because there was a storm. Everyone was afraid, including her, the childrem were crying.!
2. It was relaxing / wonderful because he swam, had nice lunches, ate at the beach, went shopping, etc…!
3. It was short because she left home about 4, She got there about 5:15 because there was no traffic.!
4. It was scenic because was long but very nice. The train has big windows and he could see the
