Speaking goal: to talk about your experience visiting a place for vacation with a friend
Then ask what was his/her longest flight/drive (if student hasn’t been on a plane) ever- (put emphasis on the ever)
Ask another student “what was your best hotel stay ever?”
Ask another student “what was your most exciting vacation ever?”
Ask one of the students if he or she is going out tonight (try to obtain agreement) and then ask the rest of the class if
we know somewhere (elicit a negative answer). Then say he/she is going somewhere tonight.
Then ask if another student is also going out. But explain he/she has a lot of work to do at home. Then say he/she
isn’t going anywhere tonight.
Show them a picture of a really crowded bus and tell them one of them took that bus. Ask them if there is a place to
sit (N). Then add there is nowhere to sit.
Show a picture of a really crowded beach and ask them if there are a lot of tourists (y). There are tourists
everywhere.

Chain story
The teacher will start a story by designating a title (“The Worst Summer Holiday Ever!”) and then writing a sentence
on the board. Then students will come and write a sentence each, one by one, and complete the story.
