 Warm Up to speaking goal:

 Customize speaking goal and WRITE IT ON THE BOARD

Speaking goal: to tell a new acquaintance where I work and what do I do

 Presentation (1. Lead In 2. SFR (min 3) 3. Cue)

Use naming to introduce the vocabulary with a power point presentation

Using pictures of people working in different places elicit the meaning of:

His/her job

What does he/she do?

Where does he/she work?

Using a picture of an employee elicit the name of the company (visible somewhere in the picture) and introduce “works
for”.
Then build up to “What company do you work for?”

Introduce “interesting”, “boring” and “exciting”

Use naming to introduce some jobs and professions and the places where they work. (Use architect, engineer, doctor,
fireman and sales representative.

Ask students what do they do and where do they work.

Matching game
The teacher will write two columns on the board. The first one will have the names of different jobs discussed during
the class and the second one the name of places where the people mentioned in the first column might work.
Students will have to match both columns correctly.

Student’s speaking time

Students will role-play a situation where they are introducing themselves to a new acquaintance and tell what
do they do and where do they work.

 Wrap up & Confirm Speaking goal – Ask “Can you now…+ SG?”

 Assign homework – Including Website- Jot down information on Ped-Card
