In this unit you will talk about touristic places and the activities you can do there, also you will
learn to be polite when having a conversation and use questions to ask for request or information
about a place.

2.- grammar. SB page 92, read the information, analise it. Read the information below and write
down in your notebook. Do exercises 1, 2.

2.1 grammar. Tag questions. In Spanish xD. Las usamos para confirmar información que creemos
es cierta. Si ustedes dicen: Eres la hermana de José, ¿verdad?, No trabajas aquí, ¿o sí?, Estudiaste
con mi hermana, ¿no? Las preguntas que están en anaranjado son las tag questions porque van al
final de mi oración inicial. Cómo quedan en inglés:

 You’re Josè’s sister, aren`t you?


 You don`t work here, do you?
 You studied with my sister, didn`t you?

Si la oración es afirmativa, mi pregunta es negativa

Si la oración es negativa, mi pregunta es positiva (tienen que ser polos opuestos y coincidir el
tiempo gramatical, presente con presente, pasado con pasado)

7.- Reading/Writing. Read the text “Travel More, Spend Less: Daniel’s Cheap Travel Blog”.

7.1 Writing. Write a text (divided in paragraphs) about the different alternatives for
travelling. Answer the questions in the text and express your opinion. 200- 220 words. By
computer. Include:
 too,
 too much,
 too many,
 enough,
 not enough,
 connectors,
 adjectives
 punctuation
 include ONE tag question for the reader (me xD)
 vocabulary from the Unit..
 remember to use an introduction and conclusion

There are reports which indicate that the number of people taking alternative kind
of holidays is increasing year after year. Examples of these alternatives kind of
holidays are backpacking, couchsurfing, working holidays and camping. They are
called alternative since they are, somehow, different to the traditional kind of
pleasure holiday. Do you think these kinds of holidays are better than the traditional
way of traveling? Which kind of traveling do you prefer and why?

Example:

Introduction

Nowadays people are taking different options for travelling. The most common is staying in hotels
and eating in restaurants; however, there are other ways to travel that can be cheaper and have
fun at the same time. These options are backpacking, couchsurfing, working holidays and camping.

Do I think these are better than the traditional way? In my opinion, this depends on…

8.- Speaking. Record an audio answering this question: What’s your favorite touristic place in
Mexico? Why? One that you have visited before. 1-2 minutes, no more, no less.
