Title: Narrative Report on My On-the-Job Training Experience
Introduction:
This narrative report provides an overview of my On-the-Job Training (OJT) as part of my academic
requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program. The main goal of my
training was to apply the theoretical knowledge gained from my studies in a practical work environment,
develop professional skills, and gain valuable experience that will prepare me for my future career.
Company Description:
The organization where I completed my OJT is a reputable business entity engaged in providing quality
products and services. It operates efficiently with a focus on customer satisfaction and organizational
excellence. Throughout my training, I had the opportunity to observe the company’s daily operations
and contribute to its business processes.
Activities and Responsibilities:
During my OJT, I was assigned various tasks that enhanced my practical skills and understanding of
business functions. These tasks included:
Preparing and formatting documents using Microsoft Word and Excel
Assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations for different purposes
Entering and maintaining data records to ensure accuracy and accessibility
Communicating effectively with clients and coworkers by answering inquiries and relaying information
Observing and learning about different business procedures such as customer service, inventory
management, and administrative operations
Participating in team discussions and supporting collaborative efforts
Managing assigned tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines
These activities allowed me to apply classroom theories to real-world situations, improving both my
technical and interpersonal skills.
Learning Outcomes and Skills Developed:
My OJT experience contributed significantly to my personal and professional development. Key skills and
knowledge I gained include:
Enhanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications essential for business operations
Practical understanding of documentation, reporting, and office management
Improved communication skills through interaction with colleagues and clients
Appreciation for teamwork and collaboration in achieving company objectives
Better time management and task prioritization in a professional setting
Increased confidence in handling workplace challenges and responsibilities
Challenges and Solutions:
Adapting to the dynamic work environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously were some of
the challenges I encountered. I overcame these by organizing my workload, seeking assistance when
necessary, and maintaining a proactive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.
Conclusion:
The On-the-Job Training experience was invaluable in bridging the gap between academic learning and
practical application. It provided me with insights into the business world and prepared me for future
career opportunities. I am grateful for the experience and confident that the skills I acquired will support
my growth as a business professional.
