On-the Job Training

Program Guidelines
Purpose of OJT Program
 Provide students with a work experience to give
him/ her a realistic exposure to organizational –
bureaucratic environment; receive hands-on
experience in a variety of departments; and
polish communication skills in an intimate,
supervised atmosphere.
Advantages of On-The Job Training

 It is cost effective
 It strengthens relationship within the group
 Feedback and support is easy

A. Guidelines for the Trainee
I . Admission Policies and Degree Requirements

 Students who would take in this course must be


evaluated first by the OJT Coordinator before they
are allowed to enroll.

  Student should finish all academic/non-academic


requirements prerequisite to the on-the-job
training program endorsed by the academic adviser
and approved by the department chair.
II. General Directives

 The trainee should abide the rules and regulations


of the school and the institution/company where s/he
is undergoing internship.

 The training site may be assigned by the OJT


Adviser, OJT Coordinator or chosen by the student.
The student has to request for a formal approval from
the OJT Coordinator.

 The trainee must be officially enrolled first before


they are allowed to undergo their training.
The trainee should always observe discipline and right
conduct.

The required number of hours (200 hours) of


practicum must be completed within the time frame set
by the department.

Attendance to the OJT Orientation is a must

The trainee should observe punctuality and regular


attendance in reporting to his/her assigned duty. S/he
should religiously accomplish the attendance sheet
noted by the on-site supervisor.

The trainee is required to submit a narrative report at


the end of the training.
III. Requirements for Submission

 Narrative Report
 DTR
 Weekly Status Report /Journal
 Certificate of Completion
IV. Grading System

The basis for the computation of grade is as follows:


 
50% - Narrative Report
20% - Weekly Status Report and Journal
30% - Practicum Performance Evaluation
100%
 
Passing grade is 70%

III. General Format Guidelines
SPACING
  Double-space throughout the paper
 Spacing between subsections or subheadings within a chapter should at
least be double-spaced, but may be triple- or quadruple-spaced for added
clarity
 
FONT
  Use 12-size font throughout the paper.
 Use either Times New Roman for text and Arial.
 
MARGINS
  Use a 1.25-inch margin for the left side; 1-inch for all other sides of the page
 
JUSTIFICATION
  Left justify throughout the paper
 
INDENTATION
  Paragraph indentation should be 5-7 spaces or the normal tab default
PAGINATION
  All page numbers are placed at the bottom right hand corner of
each page
 The first page of a new chapter is not numbered but is still
counted
 Lower-case Roman numerals are used for the front material, but
beginning only with the Acknowledgments (or page iv). The title
and signature pages are counted but not numbered.

HEADINGS & SUBHEADINGS


  Chapter titles should be boldface, uppercase, and centered on
top of the page.
 Format of succeeding headings and subheadings should
conform to APA rules on levels of headings
