2019 Barangay Harvest Festival: Featuring the Search for 2019 Miss Teen
Barumbong and Raffle Bonanza
ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
I. INTRODUCTION
The 2019 Barangay Harvest Festival was successfully conducted in Barangay Barumbong,
Municipality of Sto. Tomas, Isabela, on April 26, 2019. Anchored on the theme “Pasasalamat,
Pagsasaya, at Pagtutulungan ng Pamayanan”, the event celebrated the bounty of agricultural
produce and the spirit of community among the residents.
The highlight events of the festival included the Search for Miss Teen Barumbong 2019 and
the much-anticipated Raffle Bonanza, both of which were highly participated in and appreciated by
the barangay constituents. The festival also featured community thanksgiving activities, parlor games,
and a cultural night.
II. OBJECTIVES
The festival was initiated with the following objectives:
A. To express gratitude for the year’s harvest and blessings;
B. To strengthen camaraderie and unity among residents;
C. To showcase the talents and beauty of the youth through the Miss Teen Barumbong pageant;
D. To promote volunteerism and active civic participation;
E. To provide recreational and meaningful engagement for the community;
F. To raise funds for future barangay youth and development projects.
III. PROJECT COMPONENTS
A. Thanksgiving and Opening Program
Held on the morning of November 29, the festival commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass
and a short program acknowledging local farmers, youth leaders, and community volunteers.
B. Search for Miss Teen Barumbong 2019
This was the festival’s main evening highlight on Day 1. A total of 8 candidates
representing different zones competed in various segments: Production Number, Casual Wear,
Talent, Formal Wear, and Q&A. A panel of judges from nearby barangays and the municipal
government determined the winners:
Miss Teen Barumbong 2019: Maria Angela R. Cardenas (Zone 2)
1st Runner-Up: Louisse Anne G. Lorenzo (Zone 5)
2nd Runner-Up: Cherilyn Mae B. Alonzo (Zone 1)
C. Raffle Bonanza
Conducted in the afternoon of November 30, the raffle served as both an entertainment
segment and a minor fundraising activity. Prizes included grocery packs, kitchenware, school
supplies, and a bicycle grand prize.
IV. ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Successfully engaged over 450 residents in the celebration;
Garnered positive feedback from the community for providing inclusive activities;
Raised Php 13,250.00 net funds through raffle and donations;
Promoted youth leadership and engagement through the pageant and volunteer roles;
Strengthened community ties and promoted cultural appreciation;
Encouraged local sponsorships and private donations for future initiatives.
V. CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED
Limited funds constrained expansion of planned contests and logistics;
Intermittent rains on the first day caused slight delays in some activities;
Difficulty in sourcing major raffle prizes due to time constraints;
Coordination among working youth volunteers required more lead time and planning.
These challenges were met with contingency adjustments, improvised coordination, and
community resourcefulness.
VI. RECOMMENDATIONS
Begin planning and sponsorship drives 3–4 months ahead of the next festival;
Allocate a specific youth committee for documentation and media coverage;
Improve communication lines among barangay units for faster mobilization;
Seek municipal and NGO partnerships for more sustainable prize sourcing;
Explore income-generating booths during the event to augment funds.

VIII. CONCLUSION
The 2019 Barangay Harvest Festival was a resounding success, fostering not only celebration and
thanksgiving but also stronger unity, active participation, and community pride. With the commitment and
cooperation of barangay officials, volunteers, and sponsors, the event became a meaningful avenue to
empower the youth, recognize the agricultural heritage of the community, and raise local morale.
The Barangay Council of Barumbong extends heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success
of this festival and looks forward to an even bigger and better celebration in the coming years.
