Now can you guess our lesson through this image below?
+ = ________________ “Ma’am our lesson this morning
(Call a student) is about first aid.”
Absolutely correct! Our lesson is about First Aid.
Allow me to read to you our objectives this morning:
1. Explain the meaning, role, and importance of first
aid.
2. Demonstrate the things needed for emergency in
performing first aid.
3. Value the importance of basic information on first
aid in helping others.
ACTIVITY As we begin our class discussion. Let us have our first
activity. I will group you into three groups. Count 1-3. (Students starting to count and
get into their group)
Now, I want you to read carefully the direction so that you
can follow.
Group 1: This group you have to draw a first aid kit. List
down the items that can be found inside the first aid kit.
Describe each item and explain what it is used for. (Students are working in their
task)
Group 2. You have to list down the qualities or
characteristics that a first aider should possess.
(Students are working in their
Group 3. You have to list down the responsibilities of a task)
good first aider.
(Students are working in their

representative of your group to share your work on the
class. I will give you 10 minutes to finish this task. Are we
clear?
“Yes ma’am.”
ANALYSIS (Representative students from each group will now (Student starts to present their
present their work) work in the best way they can)
Processing Questions on each group:
Group 1. Why is it important for us to know how to use
the items found inside a first aid kit? It's important to know how to use
the items in a first aid kit so you
can quickly help someone who is
hurt, prevent injuries from
getting worse, and provide basic
care until medical help arrives.
Group 2. Why does a first aider need to have these
qualities? A first aider needs to have certain
qualities like being calm, quick-
thinking, and caring so they can
handle emergencies, make good
decisions, and provide the right
help to someone who is injured
or sick.
Group 3. Why do first aiders need to follow their
responsibilities? First aiders need to follow their
responsibilities to ensure they
provide proper care, keep the
injured person safe, and prevent
the situation from getting worse
until professional help arrives.
ABSTRACTION First Aid is the assistance given to any person suffering a
sudden illness or injury with care provided to preserve
life, prevent the condition from worsening, and/or
promote recovery. It includes initial intervention in a (Students participate in a class
serious condition prior to professional medical help being discussion)
available, such as performing CPR while awaiting an
ambulance, as well as the complete treatment of minor
conditions. It is generally performed by a layperson,
trained in providing basic levels of first aid, and others
willing to do so from acquired knowledge.
The ABCs of first aid focuses on critical life-saving
intervention, and must be rendered before treatment of
less serious injuries. ABC stands for Airway, Breathing,
and Circulation. Attention must be brought to the airway
to ensure it is clear. Following evaluation of the airway, a
first aid attendant would determine adequacy of breathing
and provide rescue breathing if necessary. First aiders are
now trained to go straight to chest compressions (thus
providing artificial circulation) for patients who are not
breathing, but pulse check may be done on less serious
patients.
Aims of First Aid
Preserve life
Prevent further harm
Promote recovery
Responsibilities of a First Aider
Assess the situation quickly and safely and secure
for appropriate help.
Identify as far as possible the injury or the nature
of illness affecting a casualty.
Give early appropriate and adequate treatment in a
sensible order of priority.
Arrange for the removal of the casualty to hospital
and to the care of a doctor or home.
Remain with the casualty until handling her/him
to the care of appropriate persons.
Make and pass a report and give further help if
required.
Characteristics of a Good First Aider
Observant – notices all signs
Resourceful – makes use of all things
Gentle – should not cause pain
Tactful – should not be alarming
Sympathetic – should be comforting
First Aid Kit is a kit where things needed for emergency
can be found like:
Cotton Tongue Depressor
Medical Tape Povidone Iodine
Tweezers Thermometer
Scissors Rubbing Alcohol
Paracetamol Safety Pins
Forceps Hydrogen Peroxide
Splints Cotton Swab
Band Aid Gauze Pads

Bandages (triangular) elastic roller bandage

steps do you take using your first aid kit? answer to this activity)
You will be evaluated through a task sheet/rubric
(See attached task sheet/rubric)
(Student raising their hand)
What have you learned about our topic for today? “I learned that having a first aid
(Call a student) kit is important for minor injuries
and medical emergencies which
can prevent further harm.”
“I learned the items and contents
that should be included in a first
aid kit, such as bandages,
antiseptic wipes, gauze pads, and
adhesive tape and how each item
has a specific purpose.”
“I learned how to properly use
the different items in the first aid
kit. For example, how to clean
wounds with antiseptic wipes
and use bandages or gauze to
stop bleeding.”
“None ma’am.”
Very Good! Do you have any questions or clarifications?
ASSESSMENT Answer the quiz below. The teacher will give you 15
minutes to answer the assessment.
Direction: Answer the following questions on your (Students will answer the quiz
