Meeting News:

Old business: none New business: Tony brought members up to date on the club business with the SBEA Assoc. The meeting schedule has pretty much been set, but a discussion was held about moving the July meeting to the second Saturday so the club may have use of the air conditioned building instead of having to be in the screened in porch in the dead heat of summer. A vote was taken and members agreed to try to move the meeting. The results of this will be determined at the Board of Directors meeting of SBEA later in January 2012. The SBEA also raised the rental fees for their facilities by $10 a month. It was also announced that Royce Wallace had been in the hospital

Presidents Corner
Happy New Year everyone. We sure have not had January weather as of yet but its coming, so the weatherman says. I know since the last meeting everyone has been busy with the holidays and some have not had much time to turn. But for those of you that have gotten shop time be sure to bring what you have been working on to Show and Tell even if its not quite finished as of yet. Show and Tell gives me ideas for things for me to turn. Maybe not the same as your project, but just sparks that thought of something new to do. I would hope that every member could bring something at least every other meeting. I now that I have not been very good at practicing what Im preaching but, Im going to do better this year and I hope you will also. See ya all on the 21st. Tony Next months meeting will be February 18th, 2012.

Quick & Sweet Meatballs

1 pkg. Frozen Italian Meatballs (Homemade meatballs can be used) about 1 to 1 in diameter 1 jar molasses
Prepare meatballs as directed on package. Drain grease if any. Using a spoon, drizzle molasses, amount determined by your individual taste, over hot meatballs just before serving. This recipe is a good one for taking to covered dish dinners. I use a crock pot with only enough of liquid (about cup) to keep the meatballs moist. Too much liquid will steam the molasses off and into the liquid, not leaving much on the meatballs) For a change, I like to make these and serve them over spaghetti cooked in beef broth, instead of tomato sauce. You could also do the same thing with chicken pieces.
