Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a) enumerate the examples of the contribution of schools for the community;


b) appreciate the importance of partnership between schools and community through
role playing; and
c) demonstrate at least two examples of schools and community partnership.

II. Subject Matter

The teacher will present an unsolved picture puzzle. The students will then arrange and
analyze the picture puzzle.
C. Analysis

The teacher will ask the following questions:

1. What can you say about the activity?

2. What do you think is the importance of school to the community?

3. How can the school contribute to the community?

D. Abstraction

The teacher will present the topic.

Examples of What Can Schools Do For The Community Enumerated By DepEd Primer
on School-Community Partnership:

1. Classroom used by community organizations for meetings.


2. Schools used as polling place and venue for medical mission which it may co-
sponsor with the Rural Health Unit.
3. School used by the Rural Health Unit for mothers’ class on child care.
4. School used as an evacuation center.
5. School facilities used for community assemblies.
6. School basketball court used for local celebrations and barangay sports league.
7. Schools conduct livelihood skills training programs for parents and out-of-school
youths by using school resources.
8. Livelihood skills-training for parents and out-of-school youths by teachers
themselves.

Learning From the Experience of Schools and Community Partners

Here are concrete examples:

1. Dumingaga Central School, Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur


 Feeding Program by Community Donors
 “Kiddie Cop” classes by Municipal Health Office

2. Angels Magic Spot and Project REACH, etc. – Pembo Elementary School, Makati
 Pembo Angels Magic Spot (PAMS) supported by Project BOWLS (Brain
Operated Well on Loaded Stomach.
 Project REACH (Revitalized Enthusiasm for Assistance to Children of
Humanity.
 Pera sa Panihapon

E. Application

The students will be divided into three groups. Each group will have to demonstrate at least
two scenarios that shows what can schools do for the community.
