"It's already 6, get up and get ready," she said then she finally leaves my room.
I get up and take my phone. There are 176 new messages. I look at them and they are all group messages about this trip. I delete them all. I throw my phone in the bed and go downstairs.
The table is all set. The fried rice gives a tasty smell, the scrambled eggs are very mouth watering, the pineapple juice at the right side, nah, who cares! I'm going to eat! I sit down at the table and take everything then munch.
I suddenly cough very hard. The rice in my mouth all fly to the table. I take my pineapple juice and drink all of it. I breathe very hard.
I continue to eat again, this time a bit slow. After a few minutes, I have finally finished all the food in front of me. I go the sink and brush my teeth. After that, I go upstairs, take my towel and take a bath. Unluckily, we have no heater in the house, I almost jump off the window.
I get inside the car and take my phone. Holy cow! 298 new messages! I take a look all of it and it's all about the getaway today. I just delete all of it.
"Yeah?" I asked.
I plug in my earphones and play What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. Man, I just love Harry's voice. I look out the window and there are many students from other schools. Looks like that they don't have this special trip. Will they have this also? I hope so.
"What?" I asked.
I look at the left side of the car and we're really here. Time sure flies fast when you're thinking very deep. I see all of my classmates going inside of the bus. I kiss my dad on the left cheek and get out of the car. I get all my stuff in the back and go inside the school premises. I look back again at dad.
I turn to the school and hurriedly go inside the bus. I see everyone is noisy and talking about what are they going to do. I look for a vacant seat. Someone is tapping my back. I turn around.
"Ms. Villaroman, if you're looking for a vacant seat, there is one beside me," said Ma'am Lorraine.
I immediately go to the front row and put my bag on the vacant seat ma'am is referring to. Oh, goodie! My seat is beside the window! I hurriedly go to the seat and look behind. They are having so much fun. Others are playing cards, putting some make-up, texting, laughing, gossiping, they're just doing things what we're doing inside our classroom.
Ma'am Lorraine goes to the seat beside me then she sits down. She looks at me then smiles. The bus driver starts the engine and we hit the road. Everybody is very quiet at the back.
He turns on the player and it is playing I'm Sexy and I Know It. Everyone starts to shout. I look at the back and there are others standing and dancing. I can't help myself but to laugh.
I look at her then she looks at me then smiles. I smile back. She looks at the road again. I start to feel suspicious. I slowly look at the window. I look at the skyline of the city. I see a welcome arch saying 'Welcome to Taguig City." Wow, our travel time is so fast. I look at my watch and it's already 8. Well, maybe my mind just fly off and didn't realize the time.
My classmates are starting to complain to sir. I just stare outside the window.
I look at my watch and look at the time. It's already 8:13. I thought that we're going to leave the school at 7:10? I stand up and look at the front. The driver is already in place. Sir is facing all of us.
"Well, Mr. President, have you checked your list?" sir asked.
I see Miranda takes his bag and take out a long bond paper. Sir looks at it and gives it back to Miranda.
"Well, please be seated and St. Theresa will be here soon," sir said.
I sit down and look out the window. I see other students looking at our bus. Being a junior high school student, I'm a bit proud because other students in our school will never have this opportunity. Sir said that we are the only batch who will have this trip.
I feel the engine starts. I look again at the front and see another bus stops in the gate of the school. The bus finally moves and I see some of the girls are waving their hands at us. Some of us wave back. The other bus moves forward and go on. We follow the other bus.
Our bus finally gets out of Metro Manila. We enter an expressway and move on. The bus driver is still playing some music and I don't even know what he's playing. I take a deep breath and speak out.
It's very hard to be here in the front row and not knowing what's happening at the back. The driver plays the song and everyone starts to shout again. When the verse comes in, all of them start to sing along. I look at Ma'am Lorraine.
"Okay," I said.
