 Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC): Identify the features of and


requirements in composing a project proposal.
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the learner will be able to:
1. identify the features of and requirements in composing a project proposal
2. organize and format the parts of a project proposal
3. demonstrate the importance of writing project proposals
II. Subject Matter:
A. Topic/Lesson: Project Proposal(Module 1)
B. Reference: RWS Self-Learning Module (SLM) for Quarter 1,
C. Materials/Equipment: SLMs, laptop, television/multimedia projector

III. Procedure:

A. Review:
Ask a few questions about the previous lesson. Students can ask and then they take
time to respond and in the process makes the session interactive.

B. Presentation:

 Ignite the spark of interest among the learners to think of at least two projects that
could benefit the school’s future students and teachers over the next five years.
(groups of four)

 Task 2-Describe and evaluate the benefit of this project plan/ project idea.

 Presentation of outputs will follow

C. Analysis/Discussion:

 Discuss the suggested parts of a project proposal with sample templates.


 Divide the class into 6 groups and provide each group a sample project proposal. Have
them study the proposal and answer the questions that follow:
1. Are the objectives of the project SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Result-
Oriented and Time-bound? Identify which part applies the SMART.
2. Is the project worth pursuing? Explain why.
3. If you were the funding agency, will you fund the project? Why or Why not?

D. Abstraction/Generalization:

What are the features of a winning project proposal?

E. Application:

With the same groupings in the previous activity, have the learners work on the
activity in the LET’S THINK CRITICALLY part of the module.

IV. Evaluation:
Answer the Assessment part of the module.

V. Assignment:
Instruct the learners to accomplish the activity in the LET’S CREATE part of the
module.
